There are more wells all over the map, if you choose to acquire it without violence.
If violence is an option, water is often dropped by living humanoid mobs; the Fell don't carry it, but Scavengers and Vukah do. You can also find water as "random loot", laying around camp sites, towns, etc... and if you like smashing things, you can find it in various jars, pots, boxes, and crates throughout the world.
There are two well recipes you can learn from/for the Carpenter, although they do require finding his Masonry Tools (and Iron Bars, for the "improved" version).
If you have unlocked it, Fast Travel to Springlands, and glide to farms or villages (outside the shroud) that have waterwells, such as:
- Harvest Homestead (This is the one I used often, as an alternative to the one at Longkeep near the starter area)
- Rookmoore
- Ferndale
- Fenrig's Farm
If u need reference on the location of the above places, see the wiki:
https://enshrouded.wiki.gg/wiki/Map
Ferndale's infested by a few rats, but otherwise quite nice (do check out the bookshelf downstairs). The well in the front yard leaks a bit, so don't wear your best shoes
It's just West of the Farmer's Vault, so both quick and easy to get to... even on foot.
