OP Builds?
Are there any builds that are considered OP right now? I've been running sword and board. I'm level 15 and thinking of trying something different. Thank you and Respects.

not really. and with level 15 you would lack the perks to make it happen to most of the builds anyway. in order to get the best builds currently possible you need nearly all the perks in the game. this requires you to basically finish the content since perks are also gained from shroud roots.

Makes sense. Thank you.

Wouldn't say OP, but 2 of the chance for health drain rings + the battle heal skill (5% heal on critical hits) seems to keep my melee character standing against most things, especially against large groups.

Doesn't really help if you want something different because you're bored with melee though.

Maybe I can try to shed some light into this ;-)

build: in this context it means the combination of skills on the skilltree and equipment (weapons and armor) that make the build of your charakter in the game. It determines if you are a fighter, a hunter or a wizard and how strong you are.

OP = "over powered", i.e. too strong for your enemies to be any challenge. Beeing OP or having OP skills or equipment makes the game very easy, but also very boring. Usually people try to avoid this.
But careful: OP can also have a different meaning and stand for "original poster", i.e. the person who started a froum thread by making the first post. You can only tell this from the context. Here, in this thread, the OP is asking about OP builds :steamhappy:

sword and board: I can only guess that it means "sword and shield". After all, the first shield you get looks more like a board, roughly hammered together. But I am not sure about this one.

We are currently playing as 3 man squad and by far the most damage we get is from our mage guy. But it comes with huge downsides - he cant stand even couple hits, any mistake is fatal for him. Meanwhile I (tank) can survive literally anything even against hoarde of mobs who 5-7 levels above.

It depends on what you consider "OP". Some consider it doing the most damage, but I consider it not dying. For the latter, the best combination is maximizing leaching health, through weapons and/or from something like the ring of endless life.

Wear the best armor you can and maximize DPS in combat. The more damage you do, the more you heal in combat, which becomes very OP later in the game (and even early/mid game).

The barbarian branch has some very powerful skill perks for melee, such as Breach and blood rage, which you can get pretty early if you concentrate on the skill line. That fits my play style in any case.

Two hander weapon with battle heal, ranger, veteran, and relentless is pretty cheesetastic.

@Nigel - thanks for taking the time to reply. In all my years of gaming, I'd not come across the term OP before. I assume it's the opposite of 'nerfed' - a term I am familiar with :).
And the explanation of 'build' makes perfect sense!
Dragon Sword in the Nomad Highlands... level 23 with 44 damage + 40 fire damage after upgrades. I'm getting level 30+ swords now and they still can't compete.

I'll take a look. Thank you!!
Hello enquiring about the game at the moment, I came around some websites by searching for "Enshrouded best builds" published since November 2024. There are indeed S Tiers builds according to some gamers. There was a patch nerfing and raising some skills by that time. But it would be nice to read some opinions here as well. I am looking for easiest solo builds.
Imo as much as i like sword and board it gets old fast, mage too, its powerful, i think its the best way to go, but archer for me is the most fun, its harder, require some skill to nail those headshots and you can go to the skill tree that tame animal and wookies without loosing much since its all DEX and STA in there.

The combat is not hard, you will only have trouble in the hollowed halls and even there you can perch somewhere and blast away, use grenades and so on, game lets you get away with a lot of things, give you a lot of freedom in a fight, even the dragon can be cheesed.
You will die more of falling inside some red fog than combat imo.

I ended up getting it last night. Love it. Thank you for the heads up. Respects!

At level 19 I still use sword and board. I'd like to try something different soon myself.
