Yeah, having different characters ( builds ) helps a lot in terms of resources meant for consumables... But in the end it's easy to get the average buff always active ( unless one dies frequently and would like to have the best buff available ).
That said my personality is to horde more one-time use things in games than I need to (potions, scrolls, etc.) haha
Ahah a friend of mine did the same because they are not used to "charges" or "consumables" in RPGs ( luckily, we just hit the last eternal spell, so they can spam over and over whatever they want ).
I tend to spam meat, bandages and potions whenever I need ( but being a melee character is somehow different, I guess... ).
