Quest "Finding Fossils", possible Bug ?
Quest description says "there are 5 fossils to find" . I found 5 different fossils, BUT the quest does not end. The bard does not respond either. Is this a bug or do I miss something ?

You can find fossils long before you rescue the Bard and she gives you the quest. The quest requires that you find the fossils in each 'region' and if I recall the quest has 4 steps taking you across 4 regions (the last step has you collecting fossils in the Kindlewaste).

I am guessing you have found some fossils that are considered to not be from the region the quest step is currently on.

But to your question the quest is not broken, just confusing.
Yep, your first quest is to get all fossils in the springlands, after that it switches to all fossils in revelwood, then the next region and the next.
Ok, thanks for infos. (I wonder how new players would know such things without community help. Might be a good idea for devs to give those infos in the game itself ..).

Their answer is actually correct. It clearly states it in the quest when you receive it.

The most meaningful answer is the truthful one. Just saying.

No problem. Eightball and Foofoo already gave detailed info to this questline.

The quest description did not make clear (enough, for me at least), this is a continuous quest over all biomes. So I thought all 5 fossils I found ARE Springland fossils (for a casual beginner there is no clear info in which biome he is when stumbling over a new fossil). But as said...problem solved.

I think there is a bug. I have found fossils in the Springlands but the quest has not incremented progress.

I have the same issue. Found all five in Springlands but nothing's happening.

[EDIT] Correction. There are apparently six fossils in Springlands, but for some reason most guides only have five listed (with two duplicates). You also need the Round Sea Urchin.

If you click on the collectible in your inventory, it will say from what region it is in the description.

Each zone I believe has fossils, except the mountains, I think.

Hm, Not in my game. It only says like "Small Fossil", "Medium Fossil", but does not give any information what biom (Springlands, Revelwood...) it is from.

The fossil must be in your inventory, and no crate may be open at the same time. When you select it, the info text will appear and the last sentence will tell you where the fossil came from.

As always, have fun!

Ah, indeed. "No crate may be open" did the trick. Thanks for infos...
Hey, OP. I was running into the same issue. I'm not sure why so many guides on the fossils only list 5, but there are actually 6 for Springlands. The last one that I was missing was the Round Sea Urchin located northwest of the Springlands Spire. It's in a flintstone mine west of the Necropolis and south of Grind Teeth Grotto. Here's a link to an article that I used to find it that I found on Reddit. https://gamever.io/knowledge-base/how-to-get-the-round-sea-urchin-in-enshrouded-back-to-the-shroud-update
