Slaying the Corrupted Beast Quest Dragon
Greetings All !

My friends and I tried out that baby dragon boss from the Slaying the Corrupted Beast quest for the first time last night. We only tried for about an hour, but that was enough to seriously drain us on potions and food, as we hadn't really researched the dragon / how to tackle him... so we were kind of surprised by how tough he was.

What I'm wondering is if we should be tackling him BEFORE we head further north (although it could be that the red mist covers a lot of that area... and we can't open that up without defeating the dragon first?)

I'm thinking maybe we could use some level 40 weapons first and those might spawn in chests further north (than Howling Peak)?

I just feel like, maybe we are supposed to save this guy for last? Not sure. I'm thinking we need his head in order to raise our home shrine level so as to open up the REST of the red mist further north. But then, are there any bosses after that? I'm guessing "no" and maybe the only challenges there might be the last Hollowed Halls and a few Shroud Wells / Roots.

Thanks!

A lot of exploration is open further north without needing the higher shrine level. The deadly shroud is only down in the valley, lots of pois above it to loot, with good chests for top end loot.

My recommendation for exploring that direction is to get to the howling peak point where you can jump over to the dragon, take a right turn and head up the slope, there is space to put a flame altar up there, and from there you can glide almost anywhere in the northern half of Albaneve.

I got my as-s handed to me a couple of times because the fight is a gimmick one, arena is annoying, spams are annoying, whole thing is a mess. Im with an archer, so i respected the crap out my skill points and used stun arrows to down the dragon, once down multishotted his eye to oblivion, took me 4 downs to kill the bastard.

Problem here is stamina, when he does the breath or fireballs attacks go flying on the air currents off the arena, but that drains a lot of stamina so, skills that mitigate that are good, like +50% stamina regeneration, use food for that too, and theres one skill that uses less stamina for flying.

The tips at the start of the arena say you can parry those fireballs, didnt try, wasnt my thing, fighters only choice i guess.
I didnt use multishot at first, didnt spec for it because it eats special arrows, but its a must have on this fight.
