It's still in early access but it's a pretty big game in my opinion.
I played more then 150 hours in 2 runs.
extra content was added...real extra content.
new area on the map and new dungeons

there is a lot of stuff to explore and building is good.

Definitely yes.

Is there any real gameplay additions since EA launch?

Or a point to building now?

I played 20 odd hours at launch and despite a impressive first few hours it quickly became a dull affair with a large empty map and a very restrictive stamina system.

You could wait for christmas sales if you're waiting for a higher discount (maybe), but the game is worth it

There was always a reason to build as the NPC crafters needed a roof over their head for them to be functional. Now not only do you need that roof, you also needs beds for them to be functional.

So they are still just talking workbenches? Was really hoping that for solo at least the NPC's would be.......NPC's down the line.

And no offence but, if I wanted to read a years worth of changelogs I wouldn't have asked in the Forum.

Thanks for the reply though.

I'll rephrase then.

Early on the whole starting area and the lack of things to do was accepted as "it just launched in EA" well, they stated they would be in EA for only a year and we are almost there.

Was any of the early issues addressed (base building was essentially pointless, there were 4 or 5 enemies total, the map was large and empty between poi's and exploration was hobbled by the stamina system) or have they just added more of the same content to new biomes?

I think the game is just not for you.
What you dislike is intended game design and will hopefully not be changed as there are people who like it and play it because of it.
The stamina system was always fine it's not intended to run and jump all the time. You are supposed to use stamina wise.
The world is rather empty besides the shroud because of the lore.
The base building is as useful as in most games. If you are looking for intense base raids, this is not intended.
I like the the game very much as it is since I got it in EA a year ago. And the last big update added new bioms and a raise in level cap.

They added a lot more content. There's also sliders to adjust your realms settings. This includes your stamina regen at up to +400%. And a quick tip. Use some pants or boots with Stamina regen if stamina is your problem. You can also craft them starting at level 8.

While i can understand what Nice is saying i do disagree in part. I hate games that are Stamina gimped. I like to run/fly/glide use my abilities . So i play with +400% Stamina regen. If that slider didn't exist i'd have a very unfavorable opinion of the game. I'd actually prefer a +600 or maybe a +800% option. But i can live with +400%. He may be correct in that perhaps this game isn't for you. But i've no idea really. Just know that there are settings for your game world and quite a few settings actually.

I'm a sword and shield type of guy. So my armor reflects this as in heavy armor. But i use mage pants for Magic regen. And for one reason only. Glide takes mana to initially use the ability and eat stamina while gliding. And i want to glide, land, glide, land, glide you see where this is going. Well couldn't do that without the mana regen.

Ah, thank you for confirming it was not ever a "its only going into EA" issue.

Stamina system is fine for combat, no arguments there but having to literally stop moving once every 20 seconds for 5 seconds to recharge before the next stretch benefits who and why?

There is a large empty map, all you have to do between locations IS run and jump.

So the lore doesn't cover the shroud corrupting and mutating wildlife? Lore is usually what makes games good, a point and a purpose. If the Lore is being used as an excuse for just not having gameplay in your game then something is very wrong.

Base building in most games that aren't "generic name SURVIVAL" tend to have a point and a purpose, here the Lore literally supports a word ending hostile force that killed almost everything (the one that's the reason the worlds empty) and they are just fine with you building your house down the street? The building mechanics here are great and completely wasted on (I'm assuming no change here) a "comfort bonus".

Sorry I'm probably coming off as insulting and argumentative here but this game has not tried. It has less depth in most places than similar games on the PS2 (like Drakan) and seemingly have done nothing to address the shortcomings by design while releasing Twitch drops of all things.

Its as safe and casual as a game with violence gets.

I do understand and respect that here are different opinions and expectations, therfore not every game can please every player and therfore some games are not made for me and some are not made for others. I do understand that everyone is trieing to get a game where he/she whants it to be :steamhappy:
The op asked if its woth, for me it is worth and always was. Still nobody of us knows the op and his expectations therfore such discussions and such questions are in vain and useless just from the start :D
