Even with high physical resistance equipment, they, in individual combat, could kill me with a single hit when they used their spectral weapons.
It wasn't organic to kill them like that, but it was the only way to do it. I wasn't about to leave after spending almost 2 hours advancing in that incredibly large dungeon.
The final reward was absolutely unsatisfying compared to the effort it took to get there.
I think I know what you are trying to say by 'organic', but you actually used tactics, not some glitch. You assessed your surroundings, your threat and your own offensive capabilities and then chose the best way to make it all work.
If the developers did not want to give players such options they would lock us into small, contained arenas/rooms with the bosses (for example like many of the boss fights in Elden Ring), but in the Halls they did not.
In fact, even with the few bosses in 'arenas' we still have options to utilize the surroundings and different tactics far more so than in other games.
And yes, the loot needs upgrading/more variety to be sure.
