hophare pen (short): https://youtu.be/YzfDOqddtcw
overall base (longer): https://youtu.be/AkcJSEHJp1Y
By the way, I originally build fences to pen in the animals, but the goats just jumped over the fence.

NICE barn! All I could get was the screenshot you posted a link to, but are they all running loose inside? I think mine didn't breed so much because they are all in pens that are a little too small, due to being inside my main base. I wonder now if I shouldn't try to put some into a larger pen, and see it that causes them to breed faster. At least the hophares. The only thing they provide is the meat you get when you kill them, so it they were to breed faster I could take advantage of that. Otherwise, I try to keep mine fed, pet them, etc., and wait. Nothing like what you've reported happens to mine. Interesting.
WTF? Goats jump the fences?
Thank you for the warning. I'm so building a WALL for those meatsacks
Thanks for your input
I only build bed for the animals as I get them, and always just one food bowl. Ofc, the game has to have enough space to add another animal, same as you can't put one down sometimes - it says something about not enough build space. I still don't get 25, just one or two more at a time.
Additionally--
I don't know that ALL animals can jump (haven't seen a boar jump) but all carnivores can jump, and they can jump as high as you can. If you can clear the fence so can they. Make sure the outside perimeter is equally secure, hostiles "shouldnt" (its been buggy) spawn inside your build boundaries but they will absolutely walk in from outside to munch on your herd.
I don't know the game very well, but I'm guessing you use a server. The server probably keeps them breeding when you're offline which is why it yield so many as a result.
I would recommend turning off your server.
If you play single player however after looking on google and these comments, I got no bloody idea besides your guys breed like rabbits haha
Makes no difference, I have 2 of every farm animal, one bed for each and they still breed.
i do not know if those still can die to something but earlier i lost some of those so having couple extra was not bad thing.
also you can kill extra animals for meat
