In this case, it looks to be more about CPU/GPU utilization which is very high compared to FFXVI and WuKong for example...
The game just isn't optimised well or at all. Whether it's due to poor game design or just that they have bothered doing it yet time will tell I guess. It is really annoying though. It does not need to be this was and power costs money!

I hope for the best, but it is now that people should be pushing for it to be fixed because it sure won't happen later.
That is not true, I can see a specific situation because in pc gaming that's always a thing, but not any game. I don't have one game on C:, and hundreds on D:-J:.
I think I'm seeing another issue where starting a game it randomly runs at say 1/2 FPS so I ave to restart. This is something new and the latest Win11 update, there's been reports of stalling/slowing in app's at least on the business end, wondering if that is causing the random issue I'm seeing in several games.
Can people please stop spewing what some guys said on the internet. Having the games files on "the same drive" is going to jack all unless that steam install drive has higher IOPS and/or lower latency than the alternative drive or is running from a slower bus.
Period. Nothing else is going to have a storage access impact other than that.
No...they wont. The devs like to make little cute posts as the first comment when they post events or updates. Thats about it.
Yeah I'm experienced enough to know yeah this is happening to some and just think if there is a systems issue and it happens to a lot of ones game, you start to think a game needs to be on the same drive as steam and it's a steam issue, but really its a systems issue of some sort. However I'm confident on most systems that you don't have to worry about this. Sure to anyone who's unhappy and tried everything, give it a shot.
