Impossible to defeat the dragon in the summits?
I'm playing solo, already switched to the easiest mode, but the dragon still kills me almost instantly when the firebreath hits me, it's impossible to dodge since I walk too slow in the snow. Am I missing something?

there are updrafts all around the ring and in the middle, you can glide across when he breathes, it helps, but its still gonna be rough

I was able to beat it pretty easy solo on regular difficulty using nothing but a bow with around 20 stun arrows and the eternal ice arrows. Not sure what food buffs you're running or what armor you have.

At about the 9min mark this vid shows you a safe spot to stand and bow/spell it to death.
He does go over the plan and build beforehand, but feel free to skip to the spot.

have you tried bringing him some hot coco and asking how he is doing, he is grumpy because everyone comes and tries to kill him

this fight was clearly designed for a group. it was not fun to me (a soloer). if a fight needs you to exploit it to win, it needs to be rebalanced.

there are way too many attacks between the "you need to parry molten rocks to stun" and it takes alot of stun arrows because it was design for multiple people to fight it.

the reward for beating it was not worth it at all. rather than needing its head to get the last flame level, you should not be able to reach it before getting the last flame level. it should not be the requirement to getting the last flame level.

What do food buffs and armor have to do with it? You obviously have bow skills. It took me over 40 stun arrows to stun him once, I shot him with ice arrows until I couldn't shoot anymore, and it had him down less than 10%, and my legendary bow was already down to 1/2 durability.

Anyone have a strat for pure melee?

I was actually going to complain that pure melee is OP now with the lasso. I haven't done the final Hall yet because I dread the time commitment, but all the other bosses / mini-bosses are now - throw the lasso, swing your weapon, it's dead.

I think that needs to be fixed, but to make the (current) final boss soo much more difficult for melee, and seemingly require some sort of ranged skill seems like a bait and switch at best.

FWIW, I tried stunning him from a distance, and then flying in and trying to work him with melee, and it did damage (much more than the bow from a distance), but then there's just too many things to deal with. Eventually you're (I'm?) going to hit the wrong button or (as it happened) be blown off the edge with not enough stamina, and then you have to start all over again.

Yes, I can probably re-skill and cheese him with arrows from safe distance, and probably will, but what's the point of that? It still demonstrates that the game is way out of balance.

Beat him easy, shot arrows to start and then just beat him with melee weapon and magic.

Move around alot and be mobile

I did it with pure melee enough times for all the trophies, default combat settings. You just need to parry all the meteors to stun him. As you said, you basically have no room for mistakes since everything will kill you near-instantly.

Biggest thing that helped me was bringing a bunch of health potions - would typically use 2-3 per kill. And glide through the center behind him when he starts breathing fire. Prioritize pulling the adds in and killing them after you knock him down because they can actually do a lot of damage and cause you to make mistakes. Just pay attention to your stamina, maybe bring sweets for it if it's really a problem (I didn't use sweets).

The mage strat is to eternal chain lightning it til it's stun bar is full (all while doing the normal aerial acrobatics to dodge it's fire) and then Fireball IV it once it collapses. I can solo it just fine on a custom difficulty (high mob spawn so it does spawn more adds after stun, no dura). Not sure if running a staff might help you for this fight.

I just had chamomile, the meat stew, vegetable stir fry, and the fruit salad. Forgot the specific names. But that paired with a decent bow I was able to stun him with like 7 stun arrow. Then I shot him in the head with eternal ice arrows. He got back up. I did it two more times and he died.
