Fell Dragon Youngling fight is straight up garbage
Waste 40 stun arrows over 2 minutes to be able to damage him for 10 seconds which only takes down 5% of his life? C'mon.

Yeah didn't worked for me neither, my best bet was to parry the rocks and shooting the head lol. Got him in the end

Yeah, that's the strategy I used in addition to the stun arrows, because he only uses the rock attacks once every 2 mins, and you need to parry I think 4 rocks before he'll go down once. Damaged him while he was flying around to help chip his health while he was doing other damage, and it still took I think 5 "stuns" before he reached 1% hp.

what are you difficulty settings?
On default, I nuked over 40% of its HP per stun phase with my lv40 shock wand.

So I stood on the mountain sides around the ring to shoot the dragon, he can't hit you with the spitting flame balls. But, you will get injured when he flies to you to either blow flames or blow with the pushback so I just flew back to the ring, shot some more till he flew back to center ring and then repeated the process going back to the mountain sides. It was much easier to avoid his flame breath, which always killed me practically instantly. I could take the pushback damage fine. The fight took awhile, so you're gonna have to have some patience with it for sure. But that's the best sort of exploit I've managed to work with.

Boss fight or not, the encounter is scaled horribly, especially when there does not appear to be ways to buff your fire and shroud armor/resistance. The flame breath stun locks you so you can't move and does about 40% of your health in damage every second, so you must have twitch reflexes that my 40 year old brain can't do any more. Nor can I rely on being able to parry the projectiles while also trying to squeeze in doing damage/firing stun arrows because it shoots about 45 more projectiles than necessary and the game locks you into animations.

Even setting the difficulty settings all the way to the supposedly easiest settings you die, stunlocked, in about 3 seconds. Bad design.

I had a hard time until I watched a vid on how to cheese the fight. There was no way those stun arrows worked because I shot him numerous times with them and he just kept killing me. Using all your food resources for 1 fight just wasn't in me so yea.....cheesed it.

I beleive the skill you want is "Emergency Blink"; ie initiating a blink will unstun you immediately from any form of stun. Also.... if you are on fire from him, blinking should remove the affect (seen it work in a video). At the minimum, that will reduce your incoming damage and let you heal sooner.

(not saying the fight is fair.. it begs to be cheesed.... but there are options available to improve your build to handle some common combat issues)

Yeah, all my attempts so far are with emergency blink, as well as water aura, earth aura... tanky battlemage build, and I still feel like I'm cheese cloth.

Finally managed to beat it... by change from melee armor to mage armor... If you're struggling, the extra magic armor on the mage sets might be worth a look.

Just thinking, is the area locked out from building?
Might be a great help, even if you have to max out an altar nearby.

E: Completely locked and far enough away blocked building mode.
Building a fort doesn't work, but digging one does.

If you die right as the Dragon enters it's 'stunned' state, like by say: getting pushed into the instant death puddle in the center of the arena by its unconscious body falling over you.. (cause THAT's cool) The Dragon's AI breaks and gets stuck when you respawn; it won't go back to normal even if you die again and again. Spent 5 minutes slapping him with a sh**ty wand and got my loot for free, which I assume is the ONLY way a melee build can actually kill that abomination without losing a significant portion of hair in the process.

(Haven't bothered re-producing this bug because f**k this boss. You might also need to stun it just before it enters it's 'outside of the ring' phase for the first time.)

Fight is sh-it alright, but made for archers, so spec full dexterity, use multishot with stun arrows to down the bastard and multishot his face when down, thats what i did, oh and when he fire breaths everything just jump off the ledge and keep flying until its over, same with fireballs.
Skills like 30% less flight stamina, 50% more stamina recovery are great, food buffs too, even so fight is so stupid i did it once and didnt bother again, such a bad arena design.
