didn't know about the shaders, they really should add a pop-up mentioning that.
either way it seems as if i'm probs gonna have to refund the game sadly. i let the shader's compile, messed with the settings to the best of my ability, and i'm only able to get about 50-60 fps out of the game still. mind you that's with dlss on the best performance mode (which makes the game look like soup because i'm running a 1080p monitor smh) with the rest of the settings balanced out as best as i could get them.
it seems as if the game is using dlss as a crutch for poor optimisation, and tbh if the game is supposed to run like this they really should update the recommended and minimum specs, because if a 3060 running on a 1080p monitor is having issues, what they have for specs on the store page must be hell to run this game on XD
anyways thanks for your help. it is appreciated.
nah i didn't have that problem as i checked. that's weird though, i think there is a way to force it to stay as a high priority but i can't remember how to do it
Fallrivers: if everything is set to performance, turn off vsync and any of the other extra stuff, let it apply go back in-game for minute, then restart the game
sometimes nvidia control panel causes conflicts with a game's video settings - you can go into it and set things to off or make a custom profile for enshrouded
I hope they improve the performance because i think its a shame you have to miss out on a game like this. btw i have RX 7900XT + Ryzen7 7700 and i can't play the game native 3440x1440 at any settings. While the the PC is good enough to power trough it i watch my GPU, CPU, RAM usage and their temperatures as i play and the GPU usage is around 65% (most settings on quality or balanced, shadows quality, texture quality, point light shadows performance, FSR quality) but jumps all the time up to 86% while just standing in one spot.
yeah it is a shame as i was pretty hyped to hop in but it is what it is, guess that's modern gaming for ya X3.
ngl i miss the days when you could buy a game and know if it'll run well or not just by looking at the recommended specs, now it's always a roll of the dice it seems. pretty sure dlss is to blame as since it came out these kinda issues have become rather prominent in the games industry (at least from everything i know)
Yeah i am well aware of upscaling, frame gen and other technologies that are over used to compensate for poor performance. I could rant here for hours but i feel like you already know all about the current situation aka "modern gaming". However i do have to say that this game is pretty amazing so maybe keep it on you wishlist or something and check back in 2025 for 1.0 with *hopefuly* improved performance.
lol you and me both XD but yeah i know all the jazz about upscaling and whatnot.
and that's the plan for sure, i'm not holding out much hope though but ya never know, something might change and force them to really fix the performance sometime in the future. (plus performance improvements is something that is still on they're to do list it seems)
