Suggestions for a solo build with the new update
I dabbled a couple of times since the game came out but never got too far into it. I just started what I plan to be a deep dive into the game and am looking for solid solo builds focusing more on fun than efficiency or maxing. I'd love to hear what builds have been fun for you. I don't mind taking my time, exploring, grinding if it's fun build.

I put points into ranger to get the zoom in with the bow which I love to use as binoculars.
Then I put everything else so far into warrior/tank for more dmg and hp. Sword and Shield are tried and true and have yet to let me down.

In its current state I don't believe magic is worthwhile as the spells are finite/pain to craft.
That opinion may change later on but I just beat the capital city boss, so I am kind of midway through the game so far (lvl 17).

Magic is worthwhile, especially when you get the eternal spells. I soloed everything as a mage with a bit of extra constitution and a few extra tanks skills.

Current play through I'm doing a ranger and absolutely loving it, but I'm not playing solo this time around. So I can't say for certain how viable it is solo.

Tank/warrior with 2 handed jump attack is good, so is going sword and board. My gf is sword and board and so far (lvl 25 currently) she hardly takes damage and still dishes out a decent amount.

You can respect at any time, so play with the skills and weapons until you find what you like. You can always respec again if you don't like it.

Oof I'm the opposite, while the zoom CAN be nice at ranged... the fact that its always on instead of a toggle option means up close bows are a pita. Especially when hunting drakes that I swear have the skinniest hitboxes the closer they get. Again if it ever becomes a toggle option I'd certainly grab it but it's better to get a feel for distances without it imo.

I'm currently lvl 28 on my main, mostly ranger but skipping multishot as maybe it's just me but it feels like the proc causes shots to miss unless they're REALLY close. Going into assassin to get the explosive boost (dunno if it helps but feels like it might be) and into survivor to pick up Vukah culture. I also grabbed Mason because I do A LOT of mining, far more than wood chopping. https://enshrouded-skill-tree.com/?shortCode=675ca4416854ac73c51d2d68

I do as much kiting as I can or even abusing the terrain to get a vantage I can't be reached as this build excels (for me) in the mantra of "Don't need armor if you don't get hit" lol.

I skipped multishot too, but you are gonna need it, the last biomes enemies are spongy, not to mention hollow halls. You can always use the infinite ice arrow.

And explosive boost is amazing to destroy mobs, very helpful, every one of those pacify skills too, vukah less than animals, animals pacified and helping are amazing hehehe.

You will get hit eventually, and the points you need to get some tank abilities are not much, so late game invest some on constitution and protection.
