Performance... Any mods to help? its miserable.
Hey guys was wondering if there is ANYTHING to help the performance i want to enjoy the game but damn it runs like ass. Im on a RTX 4080 and a r7 5800x 32 gigs of ram and only getting 60fps max settings with shadows medium and foliage medium @ 1080p i feel like my hardware should perform WAY better then it is and its saddening how bad this game is running.

Also is it CPU or GPU dependent? i understand my system is CPU bottle necked but i do plan on upgrading to the r7 9800x3D here at the end of the month.

shadows and foliage are not what you should be reducing in this game, it is very gpu heavy

I get FPS hits when explosions happen. My FPS drops from a somewhat steady 55 to a low 8. I just don't get how this game can hit the fps so hard considering I have games which are far heavier hitters than this.

Nothing I do can help with this.

Here are my system specs just in case someone might be wondering.

Windows 10 pro
32 gigs of ram
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
AMD Radeon RX 5700 (8 gig vram)

I have changed the settings, and nothing helps.

Maybe the dev might look into using Vulkan for video?

I might buy this when and if the performance improves.

RX 6600, getting dips below 60 fps pretty often in open areas with trees, even at just 1080p and the medium preset.

I mean, if your game looks like this - good, but not stunning in any way - and drops needs so much juice for even 1080p medium, AND you have FSR on, then something's not ok.

I played when it came out and it ran decent on 5700xt and 10700k cpu at 1440. I guess I'll have to check back and see whats been changed.

I don't know what the game is doing. It runs smoothly then every few minutes it just goes to hell, so you stand around waiting until it goes back to smooth. It's like it's compiling shaders or streaming assets or whatever, badly, in the background.

I find that when gliding/jumping near objects it stutters like crazy often leading to a collision and a death fall. When using wands and staffs it often starts to judder and stutter when enemies start to get close. i'm sure the Devs are aware there are performance issues. I imagine they are not going to fully optimise until they get to the final stage before 1.0 release.

Try to reduce texture quality, it helped on my rig a lot (Nvidia 3070)

I tried changing a lot of settings and still got stuttering. There's a small stutter when switching between hot bar items too, which is just so weird because it shouldn't be this intense thing for the game to do. I forget my specs but I just upgraded to a beefy pc last year and it runs all sorts of games amazingly well.

I'm on an olkd card, and it played just fine at EA launch (Jan/Feb), on a 2060 RTX OC; nowadays, I had to crank settings waaaay down. So we know it can run on older hardware, and clearly newer hardware but something along the last patch or two have really slowed things down.
Pretty much unplayable now, which makes me sad :/

I read that this can be fixed by making sure that the game is installed to the same drive & partition as your main Steam installation. If this applies to you, hope it helps. I'm moving it over as we speak.

The stuttering is killing the game for me. I've died three times today trying to do platforming near the lava or whatever it is because it likes the stutter right when you jump

Same issues with my group on performance. We played at launch and had a wonderful time playing this game. We're wanting to try the new content but all 3 of us are now having incredibly trouble playing the game. All different setups, all the same issues. I know the game can run well, so I'm confused as to why the issues are happening now. Even turning down many of the graphics setting isn't restoring consistent performance (and I shouldn't need to turn them down).

My exact issue and honestly even at launch it was bad. and my system specs have been the same. i wanna love this game so bad but ♥♥♥♥ is the performance making it hard to like it.
