Obtaining "How to craft Hardened Leather" & "Bugged Poison Steel Arrows"

As the title states.

Does anyone know how to unlock the "hardened leather" crafting skill at the huntress ?

Also does anyone else have a bug with the poisoned steel arrows where if you want to craft some the requirement for the poisoned arrows ARE poisoned arrows in the craft menu. I guess it should have been "steel arrows".

Since you have can craft steel arrows does that mean you have the blast fournace? How do you get the recipe? I already went to the albaneve tower

Got a piece of hardened leather but have no idea how I made or got it. Been over all my crafting stations three times and nothing.. It's driving me crazy.

If you carry on from the tower and go up the mountains to the north you will eventually find the "Forge of Obsidia" inside is a miniboss (be prepared he does massiv fire damage). He drops an item called "Bellow" once you have it the blacksmith unlocks the blast furnace.

I think it was bugged in my case. I re-aquired some wax and now the recipe shows up.
(despite having lots in storage)

If you were talking about the wax, getting wax did not trigger the hardened leather recipe for me. it's still driving me crazy s to how to get it.

I've scoured the TY channels...No luck. Someone knows where and how to get the recipe, but they're not telling. :) I wish the devs would give references as to how.

Did you already pick up at least one hardened leather ? Several enemies in the Mountain Biome can drop it, and it's also possible to loot it from crates . I'm able to craft it, but sadly can not remember how I unlocked the recipe.

i have one, yes; but cant recall how i got it. Tried killing yak, furry goat, nothing yet. I will have to keep trying until i figure out which animal drops it. Thanks for replying!

Animals don't drop it. But I found it sometimes in Bandit Camps, Mini Bosses and some bandits dropped it.

Ok... I also getting nuts getting the damn recipe for the hardened leather.
Without it I can not make any armor for the cold regions.

Kill Scavenger Tyrants. They drop the hardened leather very often. Today I killed 3 of them, and they all dropped it. = about 20 pieces ( I have the drop rate increased)

It unlocked for me together with Violet Fabric when I picked up Mauveine for the first time

I got it doing the alchemist's quest for the northern regions. I can't say for sure that's what unlocked; I got the new chart for the alchemist and a lot of things unlocked. After that I went to the hunter because I was trying to see what else (other than warm padding) I might be able to build up for warmer armor. Poof! There it was! About all I could make so far is the new hood, but at least I can work on gathering for other pieces. I'll need to get the new forge upgrade for the vest.
