The hunter's hand spindle quest

Got to the camp, chest only had a wand, but no hand spindle in sight.
Anybody had this problem?

It was sitting on a table by her tent pre-patch. Has this changed?

Can you screenshot your map, where you searched for it ?
It shouldn't be in a chest, it lies on the ground, next to her camp.
Maybe you're at wrong location ?
Also: are you playing on a solo world ?

Yeah. I'm playing solo.
I'll screenshot once I get back, but I did check on the only table on that camp, and there's a note that says she left it behind on a cliff side.

The quest has several parts, and it sounds you found only her last camp. After reading the note, it should point you to another location. The hand spindle is to pick up in a cave filled with spiders. It is in the Revelwood area, near the Revelwood Ancient Spire.

Then it can be that there are more notes to find. Have you explored the nearby village ? There are some lore pages as well. The quest will only point to the next location, when you have found all associated notes.

Yeah, I checked the village, and there was a note saying that she was bothered with ppl, and she probably set up camp nearby. That's how I found the camp.

Hm, when I remember right there are 2 notes in the village, but not sure.
Still strange that you don't get the quest updated, and the marker for this cave in Revelwood. Maybe you need to do some other quest before ?
Have you rescued the farmer, alchemist and the carpenter NPC ?
The farmer will send you then to find the Ancient Tower in Revelwood area. And there will also be the Hand Spindle nearby.
That are lvl 11-15 areas, but the Hand Spindle quest you can get very early already, even when you're only lvl 4, they want send you there.

The hand spindle is in a cave full of spiders. First you have to investigate Westcott, then a empty hunter camp and then the cave. The cave is relative north.

Mark the location once you get the Spindle. That spider filled cave is a great place to farm string. Beats making it.
