Report a translation problem
Pretty annoying, when you are in a melee fight and switch to your bow instead of crushing the enemy with your equiped melee weapon.
the only two workarounds are
a) unequip the ranged weapon :-(
b) dont use left mouse button but the number key of the weapon :-( :-(

I use a gamepad. The bug is so annoying because it drains mana, which is a big issue after they nerfed the mana regen. This really screws up the game and has made Kindlewaste Hollow Halls a nightmare.
Apparently the devs only read their Discord instead of the forum where their customers bought the game so if you want it addressed, you may want to post there. I've only seen players chat there though.
I get the same, and just noticed today that it happens every single time I use the gamepad command to deposit all into a chest (RT+DRight). Regardless of what I have equipped for Range, and regardless of whether it's in by backpack, on my hotbar on an inactive slot, or on the hotbar in the active slot, the results are the same: Immediate unequip.
Test and let me know if this is the cause for you, too.
Reproduction Steps:
1. Draw Bow
2. Fire at max draw
3. Draw again
4. Press fire button mid draw
5. See that bow fires when it reaches max draw
6. See that bow draws again without input and fires at max draw without input.
