Perhaps the best sword for hunter
I'm on my second play through and got this sword the other day. After a couple of days running around the world with it, I can say it has upped my hunter build like no other weapon I have tried. The two ticks to health, when combined with the fruit bowl (+3 stamina recharge, +5 health recharge) allows me to confidently run around kiting multiple mobs (even the green meanies) and all but eliminate the need for health pots. The +33 to cutting damage puts the damage on par with other 25 one-handed legendary weapons with all 5 +damage upgrades.
Awesome weapon!

that sword is not post worthy. its not new in the game at all. and since it has no elemental dmg its actually rather weak. as alot of enemies have an elemental weakness on them.

critchance and critdmg are actually far stronger than + base dmg by default if you can achieve a decent critchance. so is elemental dmg vs the right target.

thus there is no overall BEST weapon in this game by default. you can stack health regen alot higher aswell. +2 regen is actually rather bad as a bonus on a WEAPON overall.

It's always great when the know-it-all stops by to tell you that they know everything, and you know nothing.
I was sharing my experience. I certainly have not tried every weapon in the game, but I've tried quite a few. This was the first legendary, level 25 weapon (not counting bows) where my hunter did noticeably better all around in encounters across the game world using almost no health pots. Yes, I also have specialty weapons for specific mobs, but so far this is the best weapon for my hunter to switch to when the bow is not appropriate, which was my point in the post. My title's first word is Perhaps. The body of the post was about my experience. I'm sorry you read it as an argument. lol

Thank you for the post Galadhinn. I just hit 25, roll as a tank (so my wife can DPS her heart out) and I am always on the lookout for cool weapons.

Where did it drop for you if you don't mind me asking?

Hey, if it's the one you like, it's the one you like. Debating over which one someone thinks is best is irrelevant. Ignore the people that want to argue over it.

Thank you for sharing the tails of your adventures.

There is a gold chest in the sand by itself. If you look at the map I'm attaching it is the grey sack icon to the right that has the pink flag icon overlaying it a bit. You can see the Kindlewastes tower to the lower left.

Thank you for the supporting reply.
I have used quite a few legendary swords and axes with all the upgrades in the crit/damage categories. This sword took me by surprise in that the heal (combined with my other heals) really allows me to go out explore, gather resources or whatever and just keep going. So I thought I'd put it out there for others to try out and see what they think.

The OP said for a hunter, which means the sword is going to be a backup rather than main damage source. Makes it a decent enough choice for the odd swipe they'll need for things that actually get close enough.

Stats only paint half a picture, they never take the player into account and its the two coming together that determines what is better or not. Back in WOTLK when gearscore came into wow and players sneered at the lower gearscore other had due to using what were best in slot trinkets. While others would use the welfare epics from pvp to get raid or dungeon spots and be next to useless. Context or situation are harder to boil down to a number no matter how deep into the cult of meta you are.

Stacking health regen, but ignore health regen that could be included in the stack. Seems slightly contradictory. Can't recall the game but I know in the past I've had a gear sets specifically for getting health back fast or back up weapons aimed for doing the same thing in combat.

Quite a few threads regarding world persistence and the ethics of "farming" chests for epic or legendary content. Kindlewaste features more than a few gold chests such as this one just south of the Spire that is fairly generous with level 25 epic content

And this bejeweled gold chest at the southernmost perimeter of the map that is likewise blessed with level 25 legendary content - all subject to rng of course.

The game still allows a fairly determined level 15 player that may be stuck with King Gormander in the capital to skirt the edge of the map to get to either of these chests and come back with level 30 gear to fight the wispwyvern. It's a great game. Enjoy it as you see fit.

Ooh, I've been playing since release and I have not seen that sword. Thank you! I will be looking for it now! Especially since my roommate loves the building and sucks at fighting. I give him all my old equipment xD My ranger gal is always to his rescue and sometimes I have to get in close.

That sword is a great backup weapon. I think mine is only epic, so good on you for finding the legendary!
