Kindlewastes Hollow Halls - some thoughts
The Kindlewastes Hollow Halls seemed a well-designed dungeon with some flaws. I enjoyed it more than the Nomad hollow halls because you didn't need to hunt for so many keys mindlessly, but it could be better.

For those who want to try it, bring several campfires and build them when you get to those save points, because you'll die several times, and you need that stamina boost. And it's an excellent time to use those potions and scrolls you've hoarded.

Some thoughts:

Combat was fun at first, mainly because you have so much open space, so if you're a mage, it's great for AOE blasting multiple enemies while being able to avoid them. But was disappointed overall; the designers keep giving you huge open space when fighting the boss enemies and their attack patterns are always the same, so the enemy challenge difficulty goes down as as you progress deeper into the dungeon. Because all you need to do is blast them, and when they get too close, fly to the other side and blast them again. There were no surprises, so you just repeat this until everything dies. Never needed to use bandages or healing potions even once. When you realise there is no risk, combat is no longer as much fun.

But there was real risk involved in flying over the deadly shroud and I died several times. Might be a bit frustrating at first, but once you figure out where to go, it can be satisfying. That last flight over the deadly shroud where you need to keep turning to avoid obstacles felt amazing when I got through.

But having to swing three times in a row? That's a bit annoying, and I can see it frustrating for some players.

The basic rewards were poor: I only got a rubbish legendary Snakespine Wand that only does 45 damage at L30 compared to 55 for all the normal ones. On the positive side, the recipes were decent, and that huge iron crypt chandelier and the other items you get make for interesting furniture in your base.

All in all, I had fun, but I think these dungeons will be a bit too hardcore for some, mainly because they take so long without being able to resupply at your base. It took me two hours to get through this, and I'm a mage and can just AOE blast multiple enemies quickly, so it might take longer for melee builds. So it's going to frustrate people who don't go in prepared or don't like spending so long. Perhaps the developers can make them shorter or add a better save system? And the enemies need to be adjusted to ensure a reasonable challenge for mage builds.

That said, there's still a lot of very valuable feedback in here that we'll take a look at, so I appreciate you guys taking the time to write this stuff up <3. If you have more feedback on Kindlewastes please feel free to make a new thread, but given that the original post is 6 months old I don't want any outdated feedback to cause confusion in here.

For me the last part to glide through (the longest path) was very frustrating and because of it I didn't completed the dungeon and I'm not going back there anymore.

I can understand hard combat with bosses, a lot of enemies etc, but making a long path for the glider inside of the dungeon, with so many obstacles on the way and also with camera not always being friendly, was not a great idea and it don't give any joy at all.
Maybe I will go back there one day when this will be changed or shorten, but for now I will stick with something more fun :)

It took me ~2 hours the first time (partly because i went home and returned costing ~20 minutes) but on subsequent times it takes me ~40 minutes as a fireball mage.

Biggest tip i have for the gliding is dont use the ghost glider. It's extremely fast and not well suited to moving in tight areas. The first one is probably too slow, so pick one of the middle two.

If you insist on using the ghost glider though, remember that you can cancel gliding, quickly re-orient and start gliding again, and to not freak out if you crash, all you need is a quick double jump off the red shroud and start gliding again. You only lose about 2-3 minutes per touch so can do that several times and still succeed.

Can completely understand. These dungeons take time and effort and you can't do them as casually as other areas, especially without a good save system. Give it a few days and consider trying again. It's fine to die a few times to get an idea of where you need to go; in this case, I think you only need to turn in one direction. And if you hit something, if you press the space bar quickly, you'll recover and keep flying - I hit lots of obstacles and was able to make it. Or perhaps with a slower glider like Asmosis suggests to avoid obstacles entirely.

Yeah, that was two hours on my first try without knowing anything, going slow to make sure I didn't miss anything. I also spent time trying to recover my gravestone from dying in the deadly shroud. Maybe I was unlucky, but my grave often ended up being on some hard to reach rock in the middle of the shroud. Agree that it's much quicker on subsequent tries.

I had a similar experience, flying takes practice. I still die during flying in there, so take the time to learn how to fly well, practice, practice. The Snake-spine wand is a blunt damage wand, it absolutely shreds in the halls, find one and level it up. I have only found one so far and it is the epic version, not legendary. I have to keep farming those gold chests in the kindle waste.....

Given this is a bit of a necro thread;

I completed the all the Halls on Survival Difficulty and Kindle was brutal. Tons of enemies that hit really hard, but it was fun figuring it out.

@Asmosis Has a really good suggestion in taking the medium grade glider over the ghost glider. Even the longest route is not hard to figure out and you can make some of the drops and corners easier if you purposely stop gliding, drop a bit then start gliding again.

@ec928 I agree on the rewards, but it can be easily fixed by making sure there are some guaranteed epic chests that drop from the overworld loot pool. There is a Halls armor set and a number of weapons that have some extra Halls perks on them so those are nice.

@PaPaKat The loot pool seems to be shared between the Halls, the difference being the level of the loot itself is tied to the lvl region of the Hall. So Kindlewaste Hall has the highest level Spine wand, while your epic wand was capped lower.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
