need help iron scraps

im basically stuck because i cant find any more iron scraps you cant make them for some reason and i need them to progress the wiki said humanoids clearly not the shroud monsters every place that i havent looked at is over leveled and one shot me why cant you make scraps from iron ??????????????????????????? after that
i got tired and closed the game do i have to reset a world or sth?

There are metal scraps everywhere in the game. You might try a crouch tactic and look for the little squares while in camps. Those little squares indicate the ability to search something if you did not know already. To be honest I got so tired of picking up scraps that after a 1000 on hand I don't even bother anymore.

Sounds like you are just getting started and if so, welcome! If you re-visit the Blacksmith cinder vault the cinder chambers scattered about can be salvaged with a pickaxe and will give 3 scrap each. The scavenger camps around the starting area are also good for farming. But no, the shroud inhabitants will not give scrap metal.

It's literally everywhere. Every town you can smash ♥♥♥♥ up for scrap. All the scavengers drop scrap. And if you're in the iron tier and struggling with "overleveled enemies" then I'm not sure what the hell you're doing anyway.

Just raid the camps as those scavengers always drop them. That's how you stock up...

You may be right that they are near end of current content, or they meant to say metal scraps as there is no such thing as iron scraps in game.

I'm assuming you mean "metal scraps" and are early in the game because by the time you find iron, you should have found hundreds of metal scraps.

You get metal scraps at the beginning of the game by killing marauders and/or smashing certain objects. Go raid one of the marauder outposts or villages on the other side of the Braelyn Bridge and you'll have plenty. You can also smash objects in Longkeep to get a few.

If you really are at the end-game (perhaps by joining an end-game server as a low level character) and have no metal scraps, then the above advice still works and you'll get plenty by raiding any marauder village.

Try to smash everything! if you hear a metallic sound it will drop those scraps.
There is also a very good spot to farm it in the beginning. Go to the left from you base
along the shroud edge, till you reach an edge where you can climb. Up the little hill and soon you will reach a house with an enemy camp below... tons metal and the mobs drop them as well. Take some drinks and try to finish them off with arrows!

The metal torture cages that are made of straps of steel are all over the map in every biome. They only take a few hits to smash and give 2-3 scraps. As some have mentioned, the vaults you rescue the crafters from can be smashed for metal scraps, but they take a lot to smash.

You may be right that they are near end of current content, or they meant to say metal scraps as there is no such thing as iron scraps in game.

I was referring to his "why cant you make scraps from iron" question, which indicates that he's already in the Kindlewastes.

Nope, no way he went through the entire first map without killing scavengers and finding reaps of the stuff.
