Which class/build?
Hi,

I want to start a first playthrough soon, what is the best overall class or build?

Maybe somebody can suggest me a site with good builds?

Thx.

This isn't the game for that, at least not until you get further into the game. At first, just grab a weapon that has good stats/damage on it and go at it. I found that melee gets you far at first, but then falls off as you get more options.

Also, respecs are cheap, so later after you have more runes, respec whenever you want. I found while leveling you can't guarantee that your weapon of choice will get an upgrade that you want. For example, if you go wands you may not get a wand upgrade for several levels but you get a new sword. If I am in that situation, I might spec back into melee until another upgrade comes along.

At end game, or around level twenty or so, you will have a better idea of what you want build wise. Some talents to consider regardless of build though are getting double jump early to open up exploration. Later, after level ten or so, when you have more talents, think about getting updraft which will open up more exploration options as well.

then theres some of us like me, ive rebuilt my build so many times still cant make up my mind. Have a L25 and a L19 so far and still cant decide. Seems yeah you can play any spec starting out since skill points tend to make up the gist of your build. Seems to not get anywhere until around L20 when you get enough points to just keep moving them around trying to fig out which way works better for your playstyle. My L25 is a warrior since i solo all the time. Its speced into survivor, warrior, tank and a sprinkling of battlemage. Its mostly one-hand melee spec. Higher your level the more dps and defense you get, also heals itself with ea swing. Tried the Battlemage build but it focuses on magic damage specked into wands since not so good with staffs the way ive built it. I would really like to fig out a bow build with dps and survivability without having to jump around like a kangaroo. Im a slow player so warrior suited that purpose.

Maybe down the road they will have skill point build saves after youve put together some builds you want to save and to be able to easily load up a build for different enemies.

Grok smash. Grok go far. Grok just going to pollute countryside with waypoints anyway.

Double jump lets you travel so much easier and often bypass traps, or make them easier.

Water aura with enough intelligence and some armor is the real tank spec.

After spending a little bit of time playing the cost to respec is trivial so dont be afraid to experiment.

I tried most weapons, and in the end I picked what “feelt” good or satisfying to use.
I started recently and atm close to end game with sword/shield. But my stats are all over the place with endurance strength stamina. I didn’t find any builds as such worth committing to imo. Gl

Best play style = the one you personally enjoy playing the most.

Everybody's gonna have there own opinion.

Bowman / Hunter is useless but fun.

I am playing Hunter. You need to be smart with skills and some end-game gear, but then it starts to shine. Really fun to play.

so far how many different ways have players come up with after playing 2-3 characters and always trying to change things up to keep the game going until new content eventually comes down the pipe. Going to be hard for me to find a better game since for me this is top on my list. Maybe for a blindfolded assassin.

I just need to find how many builds can you come up with on an end game for bow...hunter/sharpshooter/assassin/marksman etc..

I find in the early game it's good to spec into green/archery skills, because then you get all the stamina you need to do ....well, anything, really. It's very stamina intensive, and everything you do on any build requires stamina. Later on the arrows get weak and very expensive, but then you'll have more points to put where you want them. Stamina is king in this game because you can't do anything without it.

Go Ranger; you won't have to bother with carrying multiple weapons that break on a dime and arrows are easy to make. Flying units are difficult to deal with so either way just carry a bow. You could always go the magic route but be warned its very mana intensive.
