Very true. All character models (male and female) require a complete revamp and much more customization options. Sadly, it probably won't happen.

We're meant to be a sort of hybrid. A creation of the Ancients and humans and flame. If you look at the shroudies, they have the typical "european" proportions that everyone seems to insist on. I think all the people with those proportion are shroud corrupted or scavengers. Only the happy hobbit remains free of corruption, lol. It's so weird that people will play minecraft, valheim, or extremely cartoonish games, then suddenly balk at a game that has hobbit proportions on the character, as if that affected gameplay anyway.

(Optimist) Once a toon puts armor on, they are the same. This saves a ton on making armor and weapon sets that scale to fit. One size fits all, because all are one size.
(Pessimist) I wonder if the Progressive Police got to the Devs and insisted on homogeneity and even a lack of distinct gender identifiers. Because climate change or something.

I know my toon doesn't look anything like the pic on my loading screen. But the Blacksmith and Farmer are also Flameborn, and they are normal size, shape, and gender humans.

The problem with being a pessimist is even when you are right, it still sucks.

Even though your avatar is kind of short, I think others who complain about that are using it as an excuse. Their loss. Maybe the truth is they don't want to play EA games, which there is nothing wrong in saying so. Or maybe the idea bothers them because they are used to actual human point of view. I don't know, but it does seem silly using avatar height as a reason not to try to the game.

Three things bother me - big craniums, weak jawlines and mostly boyish voices for males. Impossible to create a Gigachad.

Agreed. I played the demo and hoped they'd change it but never did. Big part of why I play games is to connect with the characters I make but there seemed to be zero likeability with these hobbits to me. Their loss.
