I still think the game is great. But yeah, NPC's who walk a bit and fake interact with each other would be such a cool addition.
I really do think Soulmask is a great example of getting a lot out of a relatively simple system. It would be my inspiration or starting point for NPCs personally were I trying to make a survival crafter. It's really just assign a list of tasks and that acts as a priority system for each NPC. If all tasks are done they just go chill at the base and use different furniture. But the priority task list basically allows them to make a bunch of simple independent subroutines that can be combined easily to really make things flow. If they got anything approaching that I think this game would become a BIG mainstay for me.
