I think active skills would be a good idea.
I'm not even necessarily talking about new skills, just making some of the current ones available to perform with the press of a button would imo greatly improve them. Here are some examples:

Necromancer:

The way this skill works right now means you need to kill something for a very low chance to spawn a little frindly skull that both does next to no damage and get's one-shot by anything usually when the fight is already over...

If however you could summon them at will at the cost of mana, hp, both or a cooldown they would make a definitely usefull distraction that may tank one hit each and make you aware of enemies you missed by poking them.

Dodgeattack:

As someone who plays without lock-on 90% of the time, the dodge attack usually has me fly past the enemy because the distance you dash forward is as far as the dodge. This means you roll backwards, attack and fly past your target because it moved towards you while you dodged.

Sure, I could just lock on but staying with the topic of this discussion, wouldn't it be infinitely more convenient to not have to dodge to do this lunge attack?

Upwind:

Love it. Probably my favorit skill in this game.
Would be even better if I didn't have to already be gliding, but could launch myself straight updwards from where I'm standing and then start gliding!

What do you think? If you agree, can you think of more examples?

Are you happy now? I will forever struggle with this because active = Aktiv in my language.
I get active gameplay with 2 out of the 3 examples I gave, but necromancer is currently pretty much a waste of skillpoints unless it is changed?

I could do with seeing all those boring 1-point attribute nodes go away. The food system already exists and is a much more interesting of statting a character. There's also stack lack of active abilities, causing every spec to feel more like slight variations of the same build.

The more something-you-have skills can be replaced with something-you-do skills, the better.

I have to disagree with the stat attributes. If I am to take on an RPG role, I would hate if someone else could be as effective as I am with my chosen weapons and armor by just eating a thing.

There is a rare scroll that allows you to summon fire wisp. Its the same thing but fire. I imagine that there will be more eternal spells, and scrolls to be made later. Including fire wisps that can be summoned at will.
