Tips on Fixing/Rebuilding Structures?

Just found the Harvest Homestead and I am in love. Trying to fix it up as a first base until I get better materials or find a better spot later on. Does anyone have any tips for rebuilding? For example, is there any way to remove the plant life and rubble without replacing every individual block?

if you match the material and have grid snapping on it does a decent job of removing vines. no effect on rubble, rubble usually has to be removed using a pick axe.

For rubble, set a foundation piece over it, then delete it.
