How do i kill the flying ghost thing that use exploding skull and knifes as melee spec
Hi. I have problem killing the ghost thing that trows knifes and exloding skull with melee spec. 90% of the times its up in the air so my melee attacks dont hurt him. And the exploding attacks are a pain.

Some flying enemies you can't really fight melee - so as a melee character always carry a bow or wand in backup for this kinde of enemies. Then: Dodge/outrun the exploding skulls - and between range arrows (best you can craft at this point) or wand damage. EDIT: They die fast with 2-3 headshots, even if you have no point in a bow skill and you are mainly melee specced.

I’ve been a mage since lvl 1 (now lvl25) I know it doesn't answer your question but wands/staff hurt him quite a bit. Especially fireball or acid spite if you can hit him. but as a solo melee user, I would try the shield/1h weapon combo. if you block those skulls head on they do significantly less dmg. Also on the 2nd level he’s a lot lower than on the ground level while flying so you might have better chances hitting him.

reaper, bow or melee ,melee is harder cause u need lure it to place where u will stand a bit higher then u can reach him.
with bow easier, alot of avoiding though his attack are magic so cant be blocked.
Also after he loose some Hp he will teleport away happens 1-2 times per battle usually.
if you talk bout this one in temple of sun ,u can lure him up to stairs and when u stand on stairs u can reach him with melee.
others wchich u meet in open areas are harder ,only bow or magic, and for me magic not damaged him dunno if its bug or intentional.

You should always keep ranged damage of some kind. Even when you're melee focused.

When you only melee and have no range to cover those situations, then run away...
Stay near cover, shoot it until it dies. Fireballs work well on fell enemies.

Stick very close to him.

He throws the blades left and right from him, they then curve towards you as they home. When you're very close to him, they hit the ground before they reach you.

The exploding skull also tracks, but has a large turning radius. You can run around a bit near him and it should also hit the ground pretty quickly.

The last few times I fought him I did so close up, and he was within melee range. I also prepped exploding arrows though I've not had to use them much. I'm going to try stun arrows next, these have been great against the flying birds.

I killed it easily bu just keep running around a structure or rock formation. It will try and find you but you are faster and can use backstab damage. I did it with Staff and eternal fireball. 4 or 5 rounds. Real fun fight !

You can also exploit the local fauna if you still struggle with them, all you need is the perk that makes animals passive towards you and then just lure that flying guy over to one of those annoying blue/orange screeching birds which you can hear from afar, it will make short work of him.

So far the two Fell Sicklescythe (boss flying wraiths) that I have killed there was always a solid object in the area that I could hide behind that blocked most of her exploding damage and all of her flying knives damage. Scope out the area before you pull/agro her. Find that object you will use. Always use a bow (unless mage = staff). Wands simply don't have the range you need. Watch her and wait until her back is to you. Hopefully you have some backstab damage skill activated. (I believe all the classes have some form of BS damage enhancement) Pull/agro her with first shot from behind to take off a nice chunk of health. Then get behind your safe object. She will continuously cycle through her attacks. The longest pause between attacks seems to come right after her exploding skull attack. Have your bow up and drawn, so that as soon as she does her exploding skull attack, you take three sidesteps out from your safe spot, shoot and withdraw back behind the object.
Rinse and repeat until you have this: 8-)

Yeah, the reaper was pretty annoying.

I used shield for the sickles and ran towards and past the skulls. The skulls have hard time turning around and the sickles can be blocked. I then used wands to attack in-between.

Block the scythes, run from the skulls, zap him with your wand when you can. You'll probably only get one or two attacks in between his so just play safe and whittle him down. Or if you can manage to get him into melee range just beat the crap out of him and dodge away when he winds up his AOE attack.

i used melee or bow ,magic worked weak on him in my case all time ive got "ineffective " message .
Sickles can be blocked as for skull use any solid object for cover or roll away/sides .

I didn't get that message using Fireball. All shroud opponents are weak to fire, I havent gotten an exception to that rule.
Scavengers (Scavs) are weak to ice.
Vukahs also weak to fire.
Animals are weak to fire.

Shock I havent made a list yet.

I built a character that is sword/shield and wands in tank gear. With this monster I stand as close as I can and use cold or shock wand, use shield to block the skull or take cover then take a heal potion if I need it. Shield also blocks the knives its throws. It will go down easy.
