Obsidian as future crafting Material

From the looks of it, Obsidian seems to be one of the next crafting materials.

I found it east of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire.

You can fly in this direction to the opposite plateau.

Continue upwards until you see the flame shrine on your right.

You have to dig your way up a little on the left side of the red rock. When you reach the top, you will see this

If you mine the obsidian ore, you don't get any recipes, so I assume that this will be a future crafting material.

The only recipe currently available in the game using Obsidian Ore is the Black Cauldron ;)

You get the Black Cauldron through a quest as far as I remember. So is the obsidian I found still more of a chance find? Because, as I said, I didn't get a recipe the first time I mined it (I've already built all the workshops and discovered everything else in the game).

Indeed you do get one and you can use obsidian should you wish to build more alchemy stations.

I am assuming more uses for obsidian will come with future updates, but I unfortunately have no further information to share at this time.

I found one. Small, but it is in there. Took about 8 hits on it to get one, with the iron pick.

Yeah, there are 3 small veins in the game already. Each vein only has about 10-11 ore.

I think because there isn't really any use for it, for now. So they took it away for the Moment, or changed the Location.

Heh. Those of us who stockpiled some are going to be annoyed if a future update makes it so we can't use our old saves and have to start over. Lol.
