You can do that in pretty much any game if you want to but its mostly a bit easier in open world games.
If you dislike that you probably shouldnt do it but i think it would harm the game more than it helps to try to force the player to do things only in one intended way. (i might would try to get in in a cheese way since its fun to look for that - but i would probably still do the normal version - so its actually just more content and only less if you cheese and dont like it - but thats something you can stop yourself)
I really hope they also add some sort of portal mechanic and some portals arround the world for players later on to add user-created dungeons/mazes etc. easily into the game. Could make the game even more fun if there were some gates to a list of random dungeons you could add with mods and that were picked by rng.
That would probably also help the DEVs - the game is great and the map is huge - but i seriously do wonder if they have enough manpower to create enough unique content for the complete map as a small DEV - especially since even AAA DEVs fail at that.
