Shift + F will replenish stacks (only 1 of each item) in your inventory if the box has the corresponding items.
Overall, I think that the existing options for moving things are not that bad. What we desperately need is the sort and search options for inventory and boxes. It would also be nice to have a global ledger that shows all your stuff and where it is.
I am against a press X to drop everything in the appropriate box since its also part of the game - and if you would add such a feature - why have an inventory at all - if we do that we could also just loot directly to a virtual player storage.
Not a fun of such systems in games like this - but we need some adjustments to make the system faster and less tedious - therefore:
- a bit bigger stacks
- signs
- pick up/drop specific number (not just split)
- maybe even colored chests
- some adjustments to the opening mechanics (it often is a bit annoying when there are multiple chests near each other that its hard to pick the one you actually want to loot - maybe add a mechanic that will always open the chest your fictional crosshair is at if you put it on a chest to avoid opening the wrong chest)
- i also would be a fan of beeing able to auto-organize the chests inventory beyond what we can do now - for example just let the player create individual subchests that will be used by the shift + r system to drop the items in a new box besides the other box and not just anywhere (i normally have different materials at different places in the chest)
There also seems to be a hidden way or bug that will drop your hotbar inventory into a chest - maybe that should be removed.
Or even added with a new system - for example a "hotbar-chest" where you can drop different loadouts that you can switch with 1 button - maybe even armor etc.
That actually would be nice - maybe even with mannequins.
I would prefer hold left button like ins ome other games for that and maybe use shift for opening a prompt to put in a number or have shift add +10 to the taken ammount.
