Triangles on Legendary weapons?

why do some people's weapons have yellow triangles on them? I see this in youtube game play videos. some "yellow" weapons seem to have a row of yellow triangles across the top of their icons. some times there are few and some times there are many. I assume that it is the quality/rarity of the weapon. MY QUESTION is this just random super drops or can I UPGRADE my gear to have those yellow triangles representing top quality?

i think all weapons have these and they represent how many upgrades are either available or upgrades that have been applied at the blacksmith.

Settings > Game > Show Icons for Item Rarity - on

These are for accessibility, for example for people with colourblindness to be able to separate rarities more easily
