Way to farm shroud wood?
I like the look of shroud wood over the rough wood block. But I'm not finding a lot of it in a decent amount of time. I've seen articles talking about looking left of the initial bridge, but aside from that, the only answer seems to be "chop down trees in the shroud!" which is obvious.

My question then is, is there a way to farm shroud wood? Would it be possible to get some saplings via farm plots, plant them in the shroud and harvest them later, or would the periodic map resets erase them as a player placed object? If so, then I suppose I am left with the manual method. Assistance appreciated.

No, there are no saplings for shroud trees. Yes, the best way is to chop trees in the shroud.
From Rookmore to Braelyn Bridge directly when entering the shroud are lots of them.

Drat, but thanks for the reply.

It will be much faster with an iron axe and the lumberjack skill with 30% more damage to trees. Search for many shroud trees and they will fall in seconds. EDIT and with the last patch all trees give more wood.

Noted, however, as my friend and I have just gotten the farmer npc, we are still on the scrappy axe, haha. Looking up the world map, assuming the Kindlewastes is the only area to find iron, it will be a while before we get there. Thanks for the info though!

Another tip: Just build your houses first with the "normal wood". Replacing the normal wood later with shroud wood elements is mostly very fast. So you have a decent home at the beginning and can make it looking nicer for you later.

EDIT. And copper or bronze axe are also an update and you get it earlier north of the starting area.

copper and bronze, noted! And yeah, currently on normal wood, I just hate building things twice lol.

Clear the wells and roots to lessen the dmg and gain more time harvesting. It also applies to getting poison sacs.

You can also dismantle existing buildings and take the shroud wood. There is shroudwood at Harvest Homestead, for example, so you can place altar, take the wood, remove altar, and let it respawn.
