Repairs-Tools/Weapons ALWAYS gone
I find myself, even when giving myself a backup to the backup to the backup weapon, it breaks so easily; or, when mining myself out of a hole it breaks at an in-opportune time.

It would be nice if we could craft "repair kits" that could repair some damage to the tools for times when we are stuck in the shroud and can't fast travel, or just wish to continue exploring.

I always craft two of every ax and pickax. Once you reach a higher level, iron tools last longer. Allowing you to return home with twice as much ore and wood on fewer trips. Just have to watch the durability meter. I too, was in the same boat. Tools disappeared either because I got greedy or didn't watch the meter.

When in the shroud and you get yourself into a difficult situation, you can just return to the main menu and reload the world.

Yeah iron tools, durability buffs or higher level character crafting for you all come to mind.

You can buff the durability of your tools in the skill trees, depending on your level.

Tools aren't just the issue, my sword is ALWAYS breaking. I switched to Archer just because the durability never seems to go down on bows, so I'm not stuck in the middle of combat without a weapon.

Carry a work bench with you, place it down, repair, pick it up and continue.

Naturally, everything will lose durability. They added this in games since the original diablo. Unless you do what LudwigVH mentioned, you have to return home after every quest or 45 minutes to repair everything for another adventure. Just seems like you're not used to this in games. A lot of games are this way. Not only to take up time, but to make it more realistic. You wouldn't expect a sharp sword to stay sharp and not break after swinging it against other metals or stones. You'd have to repair, resharpen or forge a new one.

Between Night time at a Minute 30 into the game, tools are my 2nd major concern. Why not bedrolls and repair kits? If we get Mounts, I want a Cart behind my Donkey to hold and repair items.

Yes!! Bedrolls would be amazing, also with the ability to sleep without a roof. I know you could just mine out a little cave or something, but I don't understand why some games are insistent on having *shelter* when it's a perfectly fine night. Having a plank of wood over your head wouldn't exactly make much of a difference irl! :p
