I would love to have a better farming/planting and harvesting method. Currently, it is extremely tedious for me. In games that offer growing things, I always go all out on that. I love that food and items have value in use, and try to use them to their fullest in this game (something that Witcher never utilized, despite a fantastic crafting system).

In short, I would like to be able to plant more than one seed, possibly a till the ground option that creates optimal planting points that can be used. I would like a better harvest option, possibly have hirelings like in Fallout 4, or even the farmer tasked.

The system is very enjoyable, but currently painfully tedious to utilize to the fullest. I am currently planting 350 of one type of seed, had just planted 150 strawberries, and still have 100 tomato seeds to plant.

My first thought, and I tried it multiple times to be sure it was not a thing already, is click and drag to plant a line of these. That would be a fantastic way to implement an easy option of this. Granted, it would be more difficult to program based on elevation and such of the terrain. Just my thoughts out loud.

You can plant things in the ground, and it will grow, but take a few days. You can also lay down some Farm Soil, and it will grow faster. Or you can have the farmer make you some Fertilized Farm Soil, and it will grow very fast. I had 2 stacks of 100 Flax seedlings. By the time I had the last 50 to plant, the first ones were ready to harvest. In my opinion, that is entirely too quick.

Not to mention that you wont need that much food since theres no hunger meter, survival is almost nonexistent here, not like Outward. I know you like to see those grow, i just leave them there to make the base look nice.
Only thing you need to grow a lot is flax, that thing is used everywhere.

Indeed. I like the individual placement idea for aesthetics. When it comes to practical use and gaining the storage of ingredients, it is time consuming and tedious.

I have not gotten to utilizing flax yet, but I definitely agree, plants seem expedient in growth. I imagine it has to do with getting used to their use and such. I am hoping complex awesome recipes that use combinations beyond the one or two ingredients come up.

OMG, I sent you a friend request. (In response to you talking about a dedicated server).

I'd like a sickle, although harvesting is a lot easier than planting. I just can't think of way to make planting easier.

I hold down the 'W' key and spam the appropriate slot for the seedlings. I'm not kidding when I say my character has trouble running in a straight line.

Any of the plants needed for health pots etc should be grown a lot as well + depending on your needs same for mana. I also like those wisp pots - can't be bothered taking up a slot with a torch

Yeah, I like the Wisp Pots as well, until angry Bees decide their honey is off-limits,

So true. For me this ruins the immersion.

I was already surprised how fast plants grow on the normal soil and thought "that´s way too fast".

Once I got the fertilized farm soil and read in the description that it makes plants grow much faster I was like "are you kidding me? how can it be even faster?" and then the same happened as you described. I was planting sugar cane and the first ones were already fully grown before I could put the last seedlings into the ground and it was that moment when I realized something..

This is not farming we are doing there. We are operating a crafting station. The farm soil is just a crafting station. Put a seed in and get a crop out. Immersion broken. Valheim did this better. It makes you wait for the yield which is more immersive and makes you appreciate it more once you can harvest it.

This might just be a detail but it can ruin the immersion just as the beehive which is a crafting station as well because you actually have to feed your bees with water and sugar. Again, immersion broken and again Valheim did it better.

I hope the devs change these things.

Complaining that it's too tedious to do mass planting, and then complain that they "grow too fast", are wildly different issues. If we had ways to do very quick mass planting, I doubt anyone would be complaining that it grows "too fast". We'll get one, or the other. I absolutely wouldn't count on both.

I truly believe that they won't touch how fast or slow things grow at all, but give us a way to plant multiple plants at once.

Yeah, the beehive kid of irked me. I thought it would be a passive generator, like the water well. It should require something like the flower soil on the ground, or flowers growing nearby, and passively generate honey/wax.

Kids and thier "immersion". It is a video game not reality. Sorry your real life sucks.
