[SUGGESTION] Building options.
To start, I want to say this game has more options than most, and I have been enjoying slowly learning what I can and cannot do. But there are a few things I think would allow for it to go even more smoothly.

Allow the player to drop things. I might be missing this, but all I ever see for options is 'delete'. Being able to put things down for a while, at least inside of your own flame altar safe zone, would allow for a smoother crafting experience. I often go out with building in mind, then run to the crafting table, only to see my inventory is full from farming resources. Again. And then I have to find or try to memorize which boxes have which resources when being able to just put something down for a minute then pick it back up would be so much simpler.

Allow for the replacing of blocks When wanting to upgrade a building, having to deconstruct the entire thing then rebuild it is a hassle. It's even more so when, for example, you find a building you want to carefully and as completely as possible restore and live in, but in order to do so you'd need to deconstruct the entire thing, or large portions of it, to do so. If the player were allowed to hit a block and change it's material to match the one they had selected, this would not only help with upgrading, but with aesthetic choices as well, as they could test out different materials without destroying the building.

Maybe allow for a build camera, or first person building for better accuracy. I get that, for the most part, you want to make the building somewhat realistic in that you wouldn't normally be able to place things in places you can't reach or see (or at least I'm assuming that's the reason for the current setup). But the placement sometimes is far more difficult than it needs to be, and if things were being seen from the characters perspective, it wouldn't actually be so difficult. Allowing players to see more freely and easily will result in greater overall enjoyment of the process, and some amazing buildings being crafted due to that freedom.

I've found myself repeatedly now going into a tower or other building, setting up a flame altar, and then trying to restore it to as new a condition as I can. It's enjoyable and rewarding to see it come together, and gives added drive to farm resources for the purpose. Plus some of the places are just kinda cool looking, and just restoring them is interesting from a deconstructive point; seeing how the place was put together in the first place and trying various things to make the design into a working living space.

I hope that in the future, these kinds of things can be added, as I feel they will increase the general enjoyment we builder types get from games like this, and just making building in general more enjoyable.

I second the motion for a build camera and first person view.

Reasons for build camera is that quite often, you cannot see all the connection points that you need to align to place an object correctly, especially roofing tiles, and scaffolding cannot cure that.

First person view is because I'm tired of seeing nothing but the inside of my head while trying to build a ramp up a cliff or just simply mining resources embedded within a cliff.

If we could have a replace blocks option would be a lifesaver. I just built a massive castle then found new blocks I’d like to use. Having to individually replace will take ages.

If there was an easy way to hover click that would be game changer.

Yes to all of these.

and my I addend: maybe make the Building hammer and the terrain hammer 2 separate Items, giving both a few more preset options. Especially the Terrain. cause we are lacking in terrain options. especially in reasonably big ones for massive teraforming operations like building a Dwarf hold that takes up 3 maxed out Flame Altars within a mountain
