Oh okay...I'll just git gud then...thanks for your stunning help.
Haven't gotten into the update just yet but you're insane if you think mages were hard to play. They were objectively the most busted playstyle between spells that can one-shot basically any enemy and wands that were effectively infinite, dealt big damage, and can be used to cheese enemies by jumping on top of structures or spamming jump to increase the rate you fire them.
This was seriously funny and it gave me a great laugh ty.
but i gotta say, I try to keep a variety of wands when playing now, that's the real only thing because enemies have different resistances anyways. but yeah i understand where you're coming from.
Glad i could help.
Yeah, this is what will need to be done...as if my inventory wasn't full enough...The biggest issue is that there is very little help for early game mages...sure once you are lvl 25, and everything is unlocked...yep...lots of power, but try playing the game as a pure mage from lvl 1...it is hard mode. Wands did not need a durability nerf...they need a range buff and more skills that buff wand and staff useage for early to mid game.
I'm lvl 18 and playing a pure mage. The only eternal spell I've found is the eternal ice spell which just doesn't do enough damage. I know there are other eternal spells but I have 3/4 of the map explored and this is what I've got. Also, mana is a serious handycap to spells...I can shoot maybe 5 shots and mana is gone...drink a potion and 5 more shots...by the time I have maybe half of that done the ranger I'm playing with has killed everything on screen from a million miles away.
The mage should be equal to the ranger as far as range for at least some spells. At this point it feels like the game encourages you to play ranger for the early game and then try other things when you reach max level and have unlocked options.
I don't think that was what the devs intended, but that's the reality.
You are just so very wrong or just very bad. Possibly both. I was killing in the 30 zones at level 4.
Mana is a non issue even without talents as you can get wands with mana regen on them. I've not once used a mana potion on my mage only the elixir for more damage. Also the fact you think the game pushes you to go ranger is just extra hilarious.
It's not reality, it's your warped idea. Mages are still the most OP class/spec.
Playing a mage is hard? Whoa, didn't know that, I've been doing it wrong I guess.
Or--more likely the truth here--is that this is a thinly veiled jester farm post. Meh, no jesters for you, I'm not a fan of spam posts for farming purposes.
While its not needed, a single point in tank could really help if you're struggling early on.
Food buffs are usually enough though
Staff and buttons...not all buttons...several places the ranger has had to hit the button as the staff couldn't reach.
