Massive Latency Issues on Dedicated Server
Hey,

I tried to play with some friends today but my latency was at 200ms+ and my connection went bad as soon as I connected to a dedicated server.
My connection went from 120Mbit/s to 0.5Mbit/s as soon as I connected to the server.

Any help?

To clear up latency on one machine I close all background apps. Daemon Tools, ASUS stuff. It don't seem to like keyboard software. Razor has one that clocks your FPS ingame. If you force your game to no more than 60FPS, and Razor is open it'll override it. I've had my machine hit 200FPS and it gets weird. It looks like latency, acts like it. But then I close the game and I'm rocking 200FPS. Close out Razor software, and the probelm vanished.

The game don't like background stuff.

Also, don't go above "Quality" on your settings. The game isn't optimized well and Max settings IE "Max Quality" and my game went from smooth to dying in the blink of an eye.

Sent Affinity to all cores, and priority to High.

There is also a tool someone here on steam wrote, it's in the guides. That will check the games config. You run that and it'll look for problems and fix them, or help point you in the right direction.

Also, if someone gets crazy with farms, (over about 2500 plants) and it'll wreck the server as whole. Don't build at the blue goblet tavern, as the honey bee's there bug out and crash the server as well. I completely rebuild that Tavern, even changed out all the blocks minus the cobble stone for my own flavor. Added a garden, built walls. And next thing I knew the game wouldn't stay running for more than 5minutes. We had to move the farm to a new area, and mostly abandon the Tavern. Problem went away after that.

Very strange. In the same game archive, the client is about 1100 kilometers away from the server, the RDP display delay is 35ms, and the in-game display is 40~50ms. After completing the game, I copied the archive to another server about 900 kilometers away (same geographical direction), the RDP display delay is 5ms, and the game show is 184ms. The only difference is the game version is different. I just now notice this ridiculously high delay.
