I saw those building mechanics, similar studio name, and thought KSH abandoned Medieval Engineers only to realize its potential as a game.
Thing is in order to incorporate you have to do a trademark search. In my opinion there is no way Software House didn't know what they were doing when they took the exact same name, all capitalized, that doesn't exist in either native tongue.
Games claims they only recently became aware of Software Houses existence.
To my knowledge they have taken no action to protect their trademark.
There is something that doesn't add up here. I dunno what it is. There are a lot of similarities between ME and Enshrouded, so I remain suspicious. But I can't deny Enshrouded is one of the best EA titles I've ever seen. Needs some polish and balancing, but right out the gate, it's a league ahead of the genre.
Which is where that dev team has pooled their resources and basically abandoned Medieval Engineers.
And it is very much different from Enshrouded, staggeringly so.
They share the same general genre, but that's where it ends.
In SE, building is way more (I would say too) technical, it has PvP components, there's more about physics and other difficulties with building spacecraft and turrets etc.
To my knowledge, "Medieval" wanted to something similar for, well, medieval times but for some reason or another it whiffed.
Pretty sure these devs have nothing to do with one another, but that's just my experience with their titles.
If you truly did research on Google, you must have come across some old information. Like pre-1993 information. Czechoslovakia has not been a country since 1992. There is the Czech Republic, or Slovakia since.
That is waaaaaaaay back for most of you. When games had 4 colours.
DIFFERENT COMPANIES:
KEEN Games - founded 2005
KEEN Software House - founded 2010 (Czech Republic btw)
There has been plenty of time for this to have been settled by now so I have to assume neither (more so keen games) really care.
Also, Medieval engineers is not the same is essentially the precursor to space engineers which is KSH's main title anyway. Also, both came far before Enshrouded was even announced in 2023 lol.
(just some quick searches online via the companies' sites, wiki, and steam make this all pretty clear, but feel free to correct me if I missed or messed something up.)
