There is a fix and i am here with the answer!
I encountered this twice.
First time in the starting stages of the game where you can build your first base, and i couldn't get rid of it so i just made a new world. yada yada. Turns out, all i had to do was just keep playing a little bit, get a tree seedling (doesn't really matter which tree) and plant it in the same spot as the glitched tree. Let the tree fully grow and it's gone. Feel free to cut the new tree down and both will be gone from history.
Super welcome.
I realized I can't move my flame altar yet because I don't have the materials to upgrade it and my base is now partially outside the 40x40 area.
As you can see in the picture there are 2 affected trees that are directly in the line of the perimeter. This must be the problem.
wait what, tree "seedling", i'v played so much i have never seen a tree seedling.
Go to seedbed, scroll all the way down. Two Tree's right there.
you got to be joking, i never actually looked at all of them LOL, so what is needed? wood?
