I would bet that feather farming sucks, but I never bother.
good bow, backstab, exploding arrows, suprise attack and crit chance = 1 shot almost everything with bow. Yes, even at level 30.
P.S. You must wear the right armor for that kinda damage.
Caution: You're going to be squish. Better get food if you want that kinda damage.
In games for those who don't know, typically the more damage you do, the more glass you are.
No matter you can place flame altars and teleport between different locations where you can farm twigs.
Once you have advanced to progression slightly, you can plant bushes your own and get as many twigs as you want easily. Never mind you get them also from self planted trees you will need anyway for producing coal.
Complaining about not getting enough twigs after being 5 minutes in the game? Wait till the mid to endgame of early access content when you need feathers for the better arrows.
And the time it takes to grow 100 trees, let alone plant them or process them on the planter table is far more time than it takes to spend 5 minutes in the dark cutting down trees.
Also, I presented an alternate way to get twigs, and said why I don't like the other presented method. Mining sucks isn't a well explained reason, but it is a reason.
On that note? Are you arguing with me over something I didn't say? Or expressing frustration over people talking about twigs?
Farming twigs is very quick, gathering in the woods is also quick. Farming likely produces slightly more per minute but gathering in the woods is going to get your other tangential ingredients as well. Possibly also XP and location mark unlocks.
You can mass produce those seedlings in the seedbed. Then plant them preferably on farm soil, they grow in like 5 minutes. Then you can just pick up them with E and don't need to chop them.
Both. Pointed out another, even easier and faster way and am annoyed by people complaining about twigs over and over in new posts instead of reading/commenting the old ones. There are like 3-4 new threads per day crying about twigs.
Broadleaf Trees are full on trees. They always produce:
12 logs + (6 logs OR 2 twigs) with rare chance of resin.
They take 16 mins to grow.
Must use axe.
They are are the ones that grow in 5 mins (very fast) and you can collect (E key) and don't have to cut down.
Shrubs produce 1 twig and 2-4 plant fiber (depending on whether or not you let them grow further (another 5 mins).
That being said, on the issue of twig farming...
--------------------
I've tried all 3 methods as a test since there seems to be a debate about it. For me, growing them was the fastest. Having to travel to a specific location to "farm" them takes time. It doesn't take very long to plant and harvest especially if spending time already at your base. Shrubs grow literally in 5 mins.
Me too. I have two fields in my base, one (depending on plant) can hold ~36 and the other field has ~60.
If i don't currently don't need anything else i always plant either shrubs or flax (because you need also a ton of the last on for the high level armor).
My apologies, I meant bushes. They look like small trees to me.
I just checked, they do not take as long as I thought to process. (Too used to 5-10 minutes per recipe from later plants)
I still find putting down 100 to be far too tedious. Like I said' if I could just auto grid and pop them down, that'd be one thing.
Cool. But I wasn't complaining, nor crying about it. So yelling at me fails to resolve your problem.
Doing it this way you of course have to plant them, but then you have 100 in on place, don't even need to fast travel and then still need to run around till you find 100 wild bushes.
Sure auto plant and harvest complete fields would be nice. Would be even nicer if you could tell the farmer in which field he should plant and harvest what. :D
