This costs double what Valheim costs and it has less content?
When are we getting more content, you can't just sit behind EA forever.
The demo that came out in late 2023 was the same as the EA game in almost every aspect.

I finished all quests, and all content in around 60 hours.
That is a decent amount of playtime and you could argue that one could grind blocks for eternity and build castle after castle.
But then you should just have a "creative mode" toggle.

Please figure out a roadmap and make use of all the EA money that was collected to give us something more quickly.

Valheim was in alpha in June 2018 and was in EA in Feb, 2021. It to was limited in scope and size and features. Since then Valheim has added SO MUCH content and has a robust modding community that caters to just about anything your heart desires.

Enshrouded JUST HIT EA and you expect it to have the content that Valheim has now?

GTFO you troll.

Valhieim has less "content" than this game.

Yep, I have a ton of hours in Valheim and the vast majority of it is base building and farming materials. There really isn't that much actual content, people just act like there is because of the insane grind. Like you said, they haven't added ♥♥♥♥ in 3 years to that game. This game launched with more items, more build pieces, more farmable plants, pretty much more of everything...this game already has more content than Valheim...they just don't make you sail around aimlessly for 50 hours looking for the Trader or a Boss stone. The potential this game has far exceeds Valheims in my opinion. Can't wait to see what the modders do, if its anything like what they have been able to do for Valheim it should be pretty awesome.

If you want more "EA", go play 7D2D.

Game is honestly average overall. Tons of room for growth and potential to become great. Right now though, it's just a slightly above average EA 3rd Person Action RPG with optional survival elements, with unrealized/improperly utilized multiplayer. Anyone claiming otherwise, is dreamy eyed over a conceptual idea that was demo'd at NextFest...that currently is in about the same state that was shown then. Real talk.

Addition: Honestly the genre itself is starved for innovation, and for a new concept, the one with the most going for it is Once Human IMO. And it's unfortunate that so many new additions are coming along and just failing to capture any kind of fire. PalWorld although completely different than Enshrouded, is actually a more developed, polished, and survivalesque title than this, with a unique "hook" that captured a huge segment of players that enjoyed multiple genres all at once. Nightengale played liked a pre-alpha in the most recent test, and I am no longer interested in it...I'm not going to pay 30+ to provide them free testing and feedback that they apparently didn't have the capacity to do inhouse.

And smoke simulation. I always love it when I build a chimney in Valheim and it actually works and has a purpose.

I agree 100%. I have around 2k hours in valheim and its just so bleh. This game far exceeds.
LordOfTheBread Feb 10, 2024 @ 3:31pm
Valheim barely had more content when first released as Early Access and they were painfully slow at releasing new content.
Galadhlinn Feb 10, 2024 @ 3:35pm
There is way, way more lore, quests and story in Enshrouded than in Valheim. And that is coming from a 1,500+ hour Valheim player that loves the game. Building in Enshrouded needs to provide X,Y,Z axis part movement, but it has so much more to offer and more potential than building in Valheim. What you see in Valheim today is pretty much all you will see, save for the snow and fire biomes to come. Enshrouded's world is much more diverse just within the EA map which is roughly 1/3 of what will be the total map. No knocks to Valheim, awesome game, but Enshrouded will keep me playing a lot longer I suspect.
Nerevar Feb 10, 2024 @ 3:37pm
and bases actually provideing a use. unlike in enshrouded where all you ever need is a shed for the stations and npcs. the rested buff isnt even needed cause game is way too easy.

this post is on point.

everything they showed is in the game currently. EVERYTHING. i wonder if the rest even exists currently.

game has huge potential but currently its definitly not even close to valheim. of course that comparison isnt fair given the time of release difference but this game has core issues that valheim just doesnt share for example.

not that the comparison makes any sense in the first place given valheim is different with its random generation etc.

we will see where this game ends up by the middle of this year. valheim is about to get ashlands update till then aswell and v rising will go 1.0 in may. good times ahead no matter what happens or doesnt happen for this game. if something good comes out of this down the road thats just more games to play and choose from.

Especially since Valheim has had barely any additional content added in the last 3 years

Sorry the team is overwhelmed with the immense financial success that is valheim.
Everyone knows they are milking EA for as long as possible. It was over a year since mistlands that wasnt alot of content. They're all busy going on vacation etc

This game has been out for about 2 weeks. Valheim has been in EA for 3 years.

I would like a roadmap too but I don't think it's reasonable to be this fiery. Especially when 60+% of valheim's "content" is just grinding.

Valheims got boring rather fast - development speed is a joke.

Also Valheim doesnt have that much content at all - boring rng biomes with copy Paste POIs.

Its a great framework for a great game - but not that much more and sadly not much was added.
Grumpy Old Guy Feb 10, 2024 @ 4:08pm
Valheim sold some odd million copies and then didn't do jack for over a year.

Give these guys a chance.

Also having played both games this game is 100% better than Valheim and its not even close.
Tanzy Feb 10, 2024 @ 4:08pm
Comparing an early access game, to a game thats been out for years, with multiple content updates, thats dumb.
