Sky bases, has anyone tried to build to the edge of space yet?

Since gravity doesn't affect buildings, has anyone tried building to the top of the skybox? If you built up, and kept moving your altar with you, you could keep recycling the same batch of materials as you build. If you got up high enough you could glide wherever you wanted, then teleport back to your 5 mile high base. Has anyone tried this? Do we know how high the sky goes?

I just finished my ridiculous castle on a hill. A skybase might be next. "Shroud shmoud, I live in a cloud."

They limited the altitude (don't know the exact value, just test it?), cause there were exploiters. If you build very high, you could fly with your glider to all points of the map instant.

yes.. there is a Z axis limit to the build area of a flame shrine.... We have 8 to use though. couldnt we build up to max, then plop another shrine up higher? Even if we spaced the tower shrines in a way to maximize hight, and some structure gets deleted in the gaps.... we can just build grapple hook points for assending any gaps in stairs.

you can. i did. just alter flames to get up there.

i made a thread about it aswell it should still be here somewhere. you cannot glide anywhere. even with maxed stamina and rested you wont make it all the way to the edge with the current best glider but you come pretty close. as soon as a better glider is available it should be easy to pull off.

its not overly useful tough as the skybox height limit is so far high up that falling to ground takes over 1 minute.

its just faster to teleport to an ancient spire and go from there.
