Aloe Farming Question
I just planted a couple rows of aloe... and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to harvest it. It looks like it's fully grown, but if I walk up to it I get a [Dismantle] prompt. If I hold "E" to [Dismantle] I get nothing. Is it not finished growing yet?

I tried hitting one with an axe and it dropped a couple aloe on the ground. Is that what I'm supposed to be doing?

Aloe is farmed with an axe in the wild so you can do the same in your farm :)

Is there a way to tell when it's fully grown? Right after I typed that message, a couple popped up larger. It's unclear how this plant works since it apparently works different than everything else I've planted.

When it looks like the ones you farmed in the wild it is fully grown. It is about the same height as the player model if I remember correctly at full size.

Yes Aloe works more like the trees and not like the other plants atm,

That makes sense that it acts more like a tree. Good point. Thanks!

Its been two hours in RL and they look huge but of the 10 I planted the three I cut down gave me ZERO materials. Is aloe plants on your farm land broken?

edit: nvm the aloe EXPLODES and ends up 20-50 feet away from the plants. note: plant these things near NO other crops as the aloe will land in some other crops area.

Even in the wilderness the exploding plants are a bit annoying.

Aloe is fully grown when the tops are green but the bottom row of leaves are brown. I came here with the same harvest question. When I dismantle trees on my property I get the wood so I'm surprised dismantling aloe gives me nothing. At least chopping them down gives me two but it's annoying.

Good to know.

You might wanna make sure dismantling trees isn’t giving you less wood than if you chop them.

It’s been a while, but I’m pretty sure I tested that and got a lot less when I dismantled them.

Certanly does give you less, you trade yield for speed there, as for the aloe as soon as i found them i knew they were gonna be trouble, the leaves keep falling through the dirt and its really hard to find, i kept running around like a headless chicken and clicking E to get them all.

This is overall not a good design / ux for farming.

1. the leaves scatter into the other plants, so I can't pick them up without maybe using the "repot" on the plant next to it

2. all the other plants I can think of have a "harvest" option

3. the leaves are hard to find

Also, some of the time the plant is still present after chopping down, which seems odd. Maybe a bug.

See https://imgur.com/dGOGH2l -- the leaf is at #1 but the plant was on the other side of the rooibos at #2.

Aleo in general needs a overwork, or we need a better lootingsystem. Aloe is such a pain in the ass. I don't know what the idea behind it was, to just explode from the plant xx.
