'Abandon a game' (8 hotfixes and a larger patch this early after release already)
new content will probaly not arrive all at once. that wouldnt make sense. the current map is too small for 1 year of early access. so theyll release it piece by pierce over time i assume. how big these pieces are is hard tell.
judgeing by the demo till this version took them 4 months its pretty realistic to expect another update within that timeframe now.
but they also said a roadmap is planned to be shown very soon and that should shed a bit more light into the update cycle.
more content within 1 month : unrealistic. will most likely not happen unless its just like 1 small zone which.... wouldnt do much overall.
New Content i think is about due end Q1 (but wait till roadmap is out)
Hopefully it won't be too long and I really can't believe the developers don't have more in store. I have experienced many games and servers that had potential but were killed by taking a very long time to add new content. If the developers are smart and want to keep the close to a million players who bought early access, they can't wait more than 3 months. No one stays here. The game is great and has a lot of potential, so it would be a shame to kill it with this.
that remains to be seen. the funny fact is if they take more than 2 months it just doesnt matter anymore as other big games are comeing and existing very good games of this type will get huge content updates within the next 4 months aswell.
so these WILL draw players away from this game if there is no new content by then.
they wont be able to keep the current player numbers either way. anyone who isnt into building for buildings sake without any gameplay purpose behind it will leave this game within the next month unless they barely play per week. that will be a noticeable amount of players.
the good thing is you can check back on this game in 6 months or so so see if they listened to the right feedback to actually improve and expand thier game and not "add mounts" nonsense.
so for now its wait and see and play other games while waiting.
I agree. In order to maintain an enthusiastic player community that has tried how great the game can be, they have to release 2/4 of the maps by the end of February at the latest, otherwise everything will be pointless.
