I don't respec. But it is becoming apparent that some builds don't work as well as others for certain important tasks in game. Then the common suggestion is 'Respec'.
I'm still learning Enshrouded, but I only play Valheim or Empyrion Iron Man. They don't even have a setting for it, I just do it.
(edit) also: you've trained for years to attain your current physique. The guy who can run a marathon can't win a hot dog eating contest with you, and you can't change that with a small respec fee.
You are thinking your character is a human. They are not. They are literally fire taking the shape of a human. They are born of the flame, made men by the flame, undone by the flame... fear the old flame.
I like this response. It works with the lore to create some sort of explanation. It does, however, beg the question of 'if the flame can just boost me, why do I start a noob? Push me out the gate ready to win, Flameboss!'
Here's a few answers, and you can pick the one you like best.
Pragmatic: If you were already level hojillion, the game would be pretty short. You kick down the door, yell, "Honey, I'm home!" and the Shroud sneaks out the bedroom window, never to come back.
In-game: Ever used a firedrill? A fire starts as barely an ember, and needs careful nurturing to turn into a smoulder, needs to be shielded from the wind and errant rain drops, and with time and care, it can become a merry little campfire you can cook your meat on. Or, without care, eventually a roaring blaze that incinerates all it touches.
You REALLY need to learn to separate Reality from Fiction.
