Exactly. Wells are okay, but they could be improved, with passive and instantaneous storage. Farming structures should help you. If I'm away questing about the world I would like to come back to the base and take my items without wasting time. By your logic, what's the point of growing plants, if you can get them in "country side"? I'm not saying that I want that kind of well for free. Hell, it could be even the final upgrade to the well.
For instantaneus I mean that you don't have to wast time collecting the resources. For my idea of "Final Well" I mean a some sort of storage attached to the well that when open you can just take out the stack of water. You will still have to wait to collect resources.
That could be interesting. I'm not saying that I want a free resource printer. Just some way to collect them faster.
Oh I don't need water for drinks. I need it for farming and alchemy.
I have two wells, and gather from them every time I return to base. And, I grab water a lot of times I'm hanging at my base. I've never had any water issues. ANY
