This red floor crap got us to quit the game.
almost comically bad game design right there. I can understand the appeal of "the floor is lava" but its applied in such a way that its basically just a giant middle finger to the player and nothing else. Its the way slopes are so incredibly slippery that more often than not you fall down half a mountain right into one of these zones, and there is NEVER a way back out.

not that it matters, because those two second you have to get out are useless - might as well be instadeath.

and trying to get your stuff back when your bag spawns on the very edgy on one of these soapy ledges is the worst part of it.

my entire group quit the game today after we died in the same hole 3 times, unless devs introduce some way to mitigate that they probably wont come back.

There also doesnt seem to be a beacon limit - i ve already died twice trying to get my beacon ...

And beacons also spawn outside of the lava etc. - in the worst case you have to dig a bit to get there in a safe way.

Well you can also host your own world/server then you can turn off dropping your bag on death all together.

This! OMG put that on its own hotkey!

Edit: or better yet IMO just have a modifier key like SHIFT (being my Jump is on my side mouse button).

I've died in the red fungal water. (it's water, not lava). Big whoop.

It's annoying, embarassing, but fixable. I always park a flame altar nearby so I have a nearby respawn point.

I lost gear twice at the beginning of playing. There _is_ a time limit to retrieve your stuff. But it was low level junk gear, so I didn't care.

To flounce off in a big huff over it says more about the OP then the game. I feel embarrassed for them that they stomped in here, pulled down their pants, and pointed downwards and started screaming that their ahem... shortcoming... are the games fault. If they hadn't told us, we would never have known.

Your reply is more embarrassing since you have to resort to personal attacks.

Seems like you have to feel "Safe on the inside."

Do not... you know... walk near a slippery edge? You seem to know about it being slippery. You know there is lava down there... why risk it and not just walk a little futher away from that slope?

Haven't even made a Flame Alter yet, either, SOMEHOW! WTF

You guys slow?

Just because it's bothering me, the stuff you're talking about OP isn't lava. It's the pure concentrated form of what creates the shroud. When you touch it you get a shroud timer that counts down super fast, way faster than the death shroud even. Which is why when you first start the game that stuff is basically instant death. If you extend your shroud timer you can actually survive being on that stuff for quite awhile by jumping and gliding over and over. There is lava in the game and you'll see the visual difference when you encounter it.

I read this too, ya'll 3 need to go back to minecraft. The amount of entitlement you have to have to blame the game for your mistake is beyond me.
