Can i move my base's flame altar or will everything disappear?

Base, NPC and levels of the altar. What happens if i remove it?

i had some1 hop into my game i had hosted, and delete all my altars. The main one i had built around was only level 2, and when i replace it.. i never leveled it up.

Everything did not instantly decay. I was able to replace the altar. half my farm did end up disappearing, but im not sure when that happened. I think i replacedaltar, and left it at level one, so when i logged out, it was cut out of the flame protection area.

As long as you're within ~300 block, it won't go away. If you're ~400 blocks away from that spot, it will respawn the area back to its original state in the 30 minute respawn window. You definitely have plenty of time and space to move the altar. Your altar level goes back down to 1, but your flame level is world locked regardless of destroying even all altars.
