How to get 20 alatars?!

I read somewhere that we should be able to do 20 flame altars but currently the limit seems to be 8.
Is 8 the limit for EA or am I missing something?

Max is 8. Not sure where the 20 altars rumor started but it is bs.

A major German game magazine has stated in its review of the game that, according to the devs, the current map makes up about 40% of the game. So, with currently 8 maximum altars at 40%, there could be up to 20 altars for the entire map.

The game is only 28% of total and as the map gets bigger you would think the home base Alter's reach gets bigger(when upgrading) and with that comes option to build more alters out in the world.

Just having 8 alters when the whole map gets released would make no sense.
