Very nice and clean look. Has interesting little details, like sculpted bands on walls. Floors are two color marble diamond pattern tiles. Light with orangey streaks, and darker grey with streaks. I'm building a small castled entirely out of this. Stone doors on the front, surrounded by doorframe made from brass blocks. The stone doors have brass fittings so it ties in with the doorframe.
Regular stone blocks for everything else. They just have a nice clean basic look.
Npc's will have themed buildings around the castle. The carpenters shop is being made entirely out of wood. whole thing. Blacksmith is stone with metal trussing/supports. I keep trying to build the farmer a tavern out of sandstone and limestone blocks... but it just looks too alien compared to everything else. I keep ripping it down.
The Rough Flintstone looks pretty nice overall. It's got a variety colours in the stone and the natural stone was pretty easy on the eyes. The Rough Sandstone was very similar in appearance, but has more of a sandy or desert feeling.
The Castle Block has a really nice stone look with some mossy hints here and there. It's probably my favourite for the stone styles used for stone castle buildings. The Desert City blocks on the other hand have this white stone castle vibe. Both can be used for fantasy like castles and look gorgeous.
The Desert Temple Block was flawless though. The window openings and corners actually look spot on when building. Anything made with them doesn't look rundown like some of the other buildings. It's got a sultan palace thing going on.
The variety of wooden blocks are both hit or miss for me. I really don't like how all the corners have wooden pieces sticking out, like an amateur carpenter built the thing. Using ether Shroud Wood Block or Refined Wood Block for flooring looks nice. As long as there are stone blocks to hide those wooden protrusions, the walls would look pretty nice.
Love the walls of the Fancy Stone Block, but hate how the floor looks. Using the refined wood blocks, Half-Timer Blocks, or Shroud Wood Blocks for flooring looks much nicer overall. For something that's called Fancy, the floor sure looks dirty and grungy.
All in all the amount of different styles is amazing. And we'Re only 40% into the game
Its funny, because sometimes they like to clip into ground so I cant loot them... but if i come back later, each mushroom node pops in same spot, and ill have a bunch of liquids laying around before even cutting it again.
I was so proud of my builds for once and you just crushed my soul. These look so good!
