Me too; Jump attack and Merciless Attack, along with some skills that give you a greater chance to stun, can be very effective with the right 2H weapon. You look silly bunny hopping all over the playing field, but with the higher dmg of a 2-hander axe, plus the 3-4 enhancments you can get on one of them that each gives additional cutting damage... combined with the 30% damage increase in warrior for cutting... by the end I was hitting for 400+ AOE dmg. there might be other ways that are better, but this one worked pretty good.
I'm only around lvl 13, but I have a level 11 2h Axe and a level 13 1h Sword (green, while the Axe is Legendary so ... not the best comparisment) the Axe is at 55dmg the sword at 22 both fully upgraded.
So even a Legendary 1h might get up to what? 30? Still a big difference in maxdmg, faster attackspeed is nice, but specially at bigger enemies there is from my feeling not the time to do 3-4 hits, so ~2 hits then dodge, ~2hits then dodge... etc. with a 2h Axe and the charge-attack after dodge + jump attacks the damage is far far bigger with 2h weapons.
They are bad against range enemys or bugs, as they can attack back and/or swarm you so you get hit sometimes... but for that always have a sword&board ready.
I stagger enemies quickly and I'm still out damaging my wizard buddy on most monsters at lvl 19. The double jump attack is nice for AOE weak mobs, but the dodge attack is what's made it really shine for comboing and bouncing around enemies. I can dodge back, then attack while locked on and get right back in there stacking damage.
At lvl 19 my lvl 18 mace has FAR more damage on it than I've ever found on a one hander. A big part is making sure you get the right perks. One I just found has three different +12 damages and two Brutal perks on it (I crit VERY often). It's nasty.
As mentioned the double and regular jump attack will be your main attack with its devasting AOE. Useful for initiating and group fights.
Build for max strength, crits and blunt damage. Im rocking a 2H with full blunt damage and upgraded with additional blunt damage and bosses are a joke at this point.
